The major doctrinal issues which united this group [Evangelical Adventism] were:
1) Righteousness by faith: Is recieving the Moral Goodness to Enter Heaven. We are not able in our own moral goodness to enter Heaven , because we have not been good all the time. God either will accept or reject us based on moral goodness, either our own moral goodness or believing in Christs moral goodness and pament for our evil deeds.
The Seventh- day Evangelical Adventist Movement acceptes the Reformation understanding of righteousness by faith (which was a legal action only where by our track record is made clean and we are seen as never haing committed an evil action baised on accepting Christ good life as our own and accepting His Punishment and Death on the Cross as the punishment for our evil actions.
In God's Eyes we are now declared innocent of any evil action because our track record had been credited with the actions of Christ, we then have the right to enter heaven. Our actions do not contribute in any way to us being declared innocent . The record of or actions is cleansed by believing in Christ's work alone.
Once we are declared innocent before God by believing in Christ. There is still work to be done. We must be made Holy or Sanctifed. this is done by the power of the Holy Spirit coming inside us and doing what Christ wants. The Holy Spirit is recieved upon Baptism and given to the believer to confirm his faith in Christ. the Holy Spirit then give the believer a new nature, from human to divine and this divine nature is what produces the holiness need to live in heaven.
2) Jesus Nature: Jesus had both a divine nature and a sinless human nature with no desire or bent toward evil. In that sense, Jesus human nature was like that of Adam’s before Adam was corrupted with Evil.
3) Jesus Christ entered into the most holy place (heaven itself) at His ascension; the SDA sanctuary doctrine and the investigative judgment (traditional literalism and perfectionism) , the 2300days and the events of 1844 have no basis in Scripture.
4) Assurance of salvation: Our standing and assurance before God rest solely in Christ’s imputed (credited) righteousness; While the believer want to do good and has the nature to do so because of the Holy Spirt entering his life upon baptism. Doing good all the time in not completly possible , because of the nature of the human body to yield to pleasue, becuse the nature of the planet is still corrutpted with evil, doing good all the time is not possible until Christ comes and gives us new bodie and creat a new plante that has no evil in it
5) Authority of Ellen G. White: Is not source of doctrinal authority and is NOT a Prophet. Seeing that she made many thological errors and borrowed from others, and stole the work of others, She is of devotional value only and must be judged by Scripture, History, Science. Scripture judges Ellen Whites writings, Ellen does not judge scripture.
