• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone.

I need help please with some anxiety im having.

I prayed to God earlier to ask him to 'forgive me for these horrible thoughts', i cant remember what thoughts i thought were horrible, but what if they were horrible and i shouldn't have labelled them as horrible, and shouldn't have asked for forgiveness from them?

I dont want to say it, but have i committed a sin which i cant be forgiven from?

Im so so worried, i just cant seem to get this off my mind.

I love God being in my life, please help me, as this anxiety is making me feel sick, as obviously i spoke those words, not just thought them, have i done really wrong?

Thank you.

Hey Katchit,
You asked God to forgive you, then you are FORGIVEN! I have also struggled with blasphemous thoughts. In fact, just now on the computer and listening to Christian music, I had a "horrible" thought come to my mind. I immediately told Jesus I loved Him and I rebuked the thought, wanted no part of it, and put it under the Precious Blood of Jesus. It's gone.
We are in a spiritual warfare, and the enemy knows exactly where to attack you. You are not alone. And don't ever let the enemy make you think you are. Many of us here are struggling. There are no exceptions to 1 John 1:9. You truly love God, that's why are bothered by the thoughts.
Hang in there,
GOD loves:amen::amen: YoU!

Hello,
I have had horrible thoughts before, but one thing I realised is that God knows that you didn't meant to think the thoughts and He cares about you more than you can imagine and He knows all about you and still loves you! hope that helps :) x

Thank you for your reply, and thank you for those great words, and God is so loving and kind :)

Welcome to the forum!

How are you doing today?

I feel really good today, thank you for asking.

God has given me the ability to not respond to things with fear, that i would usually respond to with fear and worry.

If i get a thought i dont want, i then think of God and his amazing love and kindness, i think of God's word, such as -

Romans 8:1

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus".

1 John 4:18

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

I find they really help.

Thank you for asking.
