Over the past few months, I've noticed that I "know" things. Upon finding out about a pregnancy, I had the unbidden thought that it wasn't viable. That would be the biggest one. Other thoughts have been small insignificant things. I haven't asked for this, I did pray for discernment, but that wouldn't be what this is would it? I'm somewhat afraid of it and I'm just not sure where it's coming from or why.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I suggest you commit this to God and begin to see what does happen. God is not frivolous, giving us trivia. But if its is a gift making its beginnings then you will begin to see some positive outcomes.

Thank you! I'm learning a lot really fast. I can remember a few years back having frequent "premonitions" but they stopped for quite a while. I was scared and amazed then. The time that I remember most was when I saw what I needed to avoid a wreck about 3 miles before I got to it.

I don't think it is anything to fear, as he said above commit this to the Lord and no matter what you're going to be fine.
The bible does talk about a gift of knowledge, it's a measure of grace given to us from the holyspirit. It is possible to know things, simply because God gives you the ability to know. These thing's have a purpose, they are not to simply enjoy or spectate at... God gives you an ability or a gift so that it can edify the body of Christ such as you know things so that you can pray for them or so that you tell someone.
I have seen visions before and God has gifted me in the area of prophecy and intercession, these are my passion and my my calling.
The most profound vision I have ever seen was one of my close friend dying... God gave me that so that I could pray and ask others to pray. Within days that friend who is a minister of God came extremely close to being killed by a terrorist attack in Afghanistan. A rocket landed where he was about 2 minutes earlier. He would have died and his ministry would have been wounded if not destroyed. I had a vision and God prompted me to pray and because of everyone's prayer his ministry survives and souls are being saved.
Your gifts are there to stop the plan of the enemy and to support the plan of Christ.

You may be what I would call a spiritual "empath". Are you especially sensitive by nature? Intuitive? God can use you in a rather unique way to help people along life's road.
Yes, it has been my experience. Once I was part of a group of church leaders who were very pleasant to each other. During the meeting I kept feeling anger, and I challenged an elder talking at the marker board. It was only a few leadership meetings later that I found out of the deep animosity between factions that was being avoided. I felt their anger but didn't know where it came from!
Sometimes it's like people are naked in front of me; I can see their souls. Sometimes words or concepts come to my mind as I stand before them. The discernment or wisdom comes as to when you share it or not. May God bless you as you minister.

Discernment is a great gift. If you've prayed for it, this could be the beginning of it. One thing about discernment though (from my own experience) is that it's 'discernment'. In otherwords you start to discern things through the spirit. But there's two spirit realms, and to figure out which is which is part of the learning process.
So you can get the devil pretending to be God and trying to trick you too. 'Discerning' the spirits means you can figure out what's going on the church sometimes in the spirit realm - if something is God or not, and that can be great for helping other christians.
But that can take time. Like school. You learn and you grow and your knowledge increases with each lesson.

be careful.. i asked a woman the name of her irish setter, and as i asked the name came into my head.. then she confirmed the name was roofus, by answering my question.. this sort of thing would most probably come from the evil one.. what would it benefit my christian faith for this to come from God.. now the devil could have really used something like this to redirect my efforts and even take my faith off the Lord and focus more on my own new found ability.. so you see. this could be very dangerous.. the devil is lurking and waiting.. i have had several bouts with the dark side.. i have heard absolute blasphemies in my mind.. even while i was in the middle of prayer or scripture reading.. the question is. what are you doing in your walk.. i am an evangelist.. i even do this while at my job.. so that serpent has something to gain by hindering me.. this in itself is a reward.. because it reminds me that i am doing what the Lord has called me to do.. now, if my faith were just a sunday morning thing.. well, then the devil wouldn't have to hinder my efforts. because there wouldn't be any effort on my part anyhow.. please don't entertain this sort of thing.. this is not discernment.. in Jesus..

Yes this is me! I have always felt others' emotions. It was overwhelming in my late teens and I successfully shut it down for many years but it's back. My life has completely turned around now from where I was just a few years ago and I am much closer to God than I was. God is very definitely working in me and since I've been learning more about satan and his influence, I tend to be very very cautious about things. Thanks to everyone for the replies. I can't do that multi quote yet, but none were ignored! This issue is definitely something I will continue to pray about.

Like our stomachs that hunger for food, our minds hunger for wisdom: God's wealth of wisdom - the Word of God can bring the fullness of supernatural wisdom in our hearts, with the help of Jesus whose spiritual healing partnership also resides inside all faith-loving believers, to bring miraculous change to hard-hearted non-Christians on every inch of every street on our planet Earth. Even if you have trouble understanding the words in the bible, you allow Jesus to do his work miraculously supernaturally, where the living Word of God is keeping us alive and safe as it fights every second to defeat the deceiving works of Satan that can create failure and dishonesty in both non-Christians and Christians around the world.:*:. I pray that the open victorious mind of Jesus allow you to learn from others about their experiences and to take action before it's too late. Satan wants to turn Christianity into something like a junkyard of throw-away forgotten rubbish heap, so that non-Christians can pat themselves on the back for their years of fault-finding views about some Christians who can put Christianity in a messy confusion, not knowing that Satan is the cause of deceiving Christians where their faith in God has been put on the wrong train track. When Jesus returns in the future, our new minds and bodies of Christ will do away with sin forever. We will definitely see what our true God wants us to expereince - to truly feel joy and peace of Jesus where not an ounce of deceit and dishonesty will discolor and confuse our thoughts. Such freedom of wealth of the wisdom of God is far greater than all the money and precious diamonds and gold combined.:*:. We pray that non-Christians will become Christians sooner or later because Jesus is coming soon to defeat Satan for good.:*:.

I would say this is more the word of knowledge than discernment (of spirits), another manifestation gift of the Holy Spirit. I would suggest you study the spiritual gifts, both in the Bible (1Cor 12 is a good place to start. Particularly see vs 8 and 10) and maybe some good books on it. And also, continue to pray for the gift of discernment. It may be that you were led to start praying for discernment so that you would have a guide in the use of word of knowledge - for your and everyone's protection.
