Thing is, one can distort the Bible to say more or less anything one wants...especially if taken out of context. Amd one can come up with all kinds of theories. I've nearly driven myself crazy trying to answer impossible questions in Scripture. In the end one can't know everything and has to just believe and trust what one does know.
It seems to me that what you're saying is 'what if what I believe isn't actually true?' Well, many of us even without OCD try and look at things every which way and start wondering if things happened a bit of a different way, but generally speaking, we return to what we know and believe. (Unless something convinces us otherwise).
I'm not sure what the solution is for you. I'm afraid I still can't put my mind to it today as I am at the moment surrounded by really noisy family members...not conducive to trying to work things out!
Thank you. This was helpful. :) I'm just trying to push out all the lies that I've made up and not follow them or make it my worldview agh. It's hard for me but I'm trying. Thanks though. :) Haha if you find a solution one day tell me :)

Hey so I'm not sure where to post this. I'm new here and I'm a Christian but I've made up some weird philosophy that I can't seem to completely disprove yet and I really want it to be disproved; I don't think I'll have any peace until it is disproved.

Maybe I'm just crazy or illogical (tell me if I am in a nice way haha and I also have OCD so yeah maybe I am crazy but if you tell me that please give a reason why this theory is wrong. Please don't give a reason like: lol this is all crazy) As you read, please completely read as a theory; I do not believe any of the stuff my mind has conjured up; however, I would really like someone to disprove it because I haven't found a point where I can disprove it (or maybe I have but I'm blind lol).

But anyways, here's the weird theory I made up that I'd like someone to disprove (please don't laugh): What if we were divine, created the earth and all things good, and were the originator of good and then God who would be THEORETICALLY bad/evil (I know He isn't) somehow contaminated it and everything became fallen.

The contamination would take away our theoretical power to create out of nothing, our creativity to actually have new ideas based off of totally nothing (I mean how God has ideas off of nothing), and the contamination would also cause us to become evil and not as good as we were originally.

Of course, the theoretical original people would have to forget all this or God would have to theoretically take away the memory. I'm not even sure that our brain would physically be able to think completely new ideas and stuff so that would probably disprove all this hopefully. But what if ability theoretically got taken away lol.

What if God theoretically made a pact with Christ saying that He would take away His contamination so that Christ could be what theoretically we were originally supposed to be: divine and perfect? And what would God theoretically get out of this pact: People would turn to Him and worship Him. Jesus would get people worshipping Him.

Theoretically, the reason we become more like Jesus is because God would theoretically lift off the contamination, slowly making us what we were originally supposed to be. Every time we would do a miracle in Jesus' name God would theoretically lift off more of the contamination in that moment.

This whole theory is like the truth twisted so I know that there has to be a point where it just doesn't make any sense or line up with reality. Anyways please tell me if I'm crazy which I think I am but if you do please also give reasons why you know this could not be true.

Yes, I am a Christian so I know this really isn't true, I don't believe it is true, I really don't want this to be true and it hurts typing all this out but I just have OCD and if something is not disproven even if it sounds crazy then I can't have peace and I can't let it go. And yes I know this is empty philosophy. So please just disprove it and please be kind. :) looking for some help and some peace:) Thanks!!!

Let me give it to you from this point of view...I sense that you posted this question from a position of weakness. You more then once associated your "theory" with OCD. I too suffer from destructive thought patterns and extreme negativity, I strongly believe that most if not all psychological and mental problems are spiritual or at least could be cured spiritually. Over the years because of certain things you went through and the way you processed them made you sensitive to certain things, in other words you till the soil and prepare it for a specific plantation. Only certain plants can grow in certain soil as it is with our thought patterns. Whatever you planted in your heart or allowed to be planted will grow and will bear fruit in your words and actions.

What I'm trying to say is that Satan has you thinking in an obsessive way with uncertainty, he has you doubting everything even if you certain about it in your heart...just the thought that there is possibility, no matter how small it is. Like Satan had man look at what they don't have, instead of what they have. You would concentrate on the 1% instead of the 99% ...Like in your theory it's God who is wishing ill on man and the bible says that God never had one bad thought about us, just like Satan told Adam and Eve that God is withholding what is good from them. Just think about it what is the antichrist, what is the spirit of satan?...isnt it the prideful spirit that wants all God's Glory for himself.
(Forgive me if i offended you in any way)....

No, you have not offended me sir. :) Please understand I am trying to fight this. I've only had OCD for about 8 months or so. Your paragraph with Satan and stuff is eye opening; I'm trying not to focus on the 1%. Should I just block it all out?

If I'm not mistaken, what your describing is a form of mysticism.
It originates among the Jewish people.
They believe that the roles are reversed and Lucifer is the bright morning star , and God is evil.

2 Corinthians 10: 5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6. And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Hi hiy'all,

The easiest answer is because it goes against what God has said. So, the question for you becomes:

Do I believe the wanderings and musings of my carnal mind? Or do I believe that the Scriptures are a true representation of God? That God Himself has caused to be written to us?

God's word tells us that all things, both in the heavens and in and on the earth were created by God.

If you believe God, then that automatically disproves the foundation of your theory. If, however, you don't believe God or haven't quite grasped the understanding of the Scriptures as being just what Paul wrote that they are, the very oracles of God, then your mind could believe that your theory might be true.

I personally find it odd that while you write out your question, you do, in several places, stop and say, but I know this isn't true...then that begs the question, then why would you entertain the idea that it is? I would agree that it's somehow tied to what you refer to as OCD.

God bless you
In Christ, ted
