Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

03 they went to brissie, 04 they went to perth (and melbourne i think?)

not sure about this year, didn't pay much attention.

Ah ok, I wasn't sure when they started going to Brissie, but I did know they did in 04. They didn't go to Melbourne in 04, it was just Perth, brissie and Adelaide. Adelaide had 2 weeks and Brissie and Perth had about 5 days each...

This year they also added Melbourne and Sydney... haven't a clue what they're doing next year though...

sydney already has so many conferences :sigh: do they need this one too? i liked how everyone came together, it was like hillsong - everyone came from all different places and you met heaps of people.

I know!!!

It was sooo much fun waiting in the line talking to random people that were from the other side of Australia! Seriously...my friends and I have some crazy stories about waiting in lines for like 5 hours....;)

That sounds like fun. I went to the Sydney one at the beginning of this year and it wasnt like that. Or that I could see. Everyone sort of kept to themselves. In their own youth groups, which was pretty sad. You didnt really meet anyone new.

i think it's starting to get like that in adelaide too, where people keep to themselves. such a shame, because the community culture is what i love about big christian conferences. i went to hillsong last year and it's fantastic being there because you know the people you're with but you also meet so many other people because you're with them all the time. there's something about getting up early every day and going out until late at night with only what you can carry in a backpack that's wonderful - i don't know i feel less burdened when i only have a little and have to have things in common with other people, and i can't claim any space as my own. but hey, i'm a bit of a hippie at heart so that might be it :p

:sighs: this is making me have withdrawal symptoms - i need to go on another conference!

I'm heading down to Melbourne for the hols, and looking forward very much to going to my first Planet Shakers. We've had some of their speakers speak at our national youth conference 'Liberty', and they taught some great stuff, so can't wait to see learn what God'll teach me through them. :)
