Things are spiraling out of control. So much hate.
I fear that absolute, unhinged chaos is just around the corner. Apocalyptic, even. We are falling.

Originally 8 died.
12 injured.
Toll is now 11 dead.
4 cops shot, so far none fatal.

This was a baby's naming ceremony today.
Horrific.
Im from Pittsburgh and I'm living in the outskirts.
So this was awful news to hear.

A catholic community began helping.
This is so sad.

I just heard on the news fatalities ranged from 54 all the way up to 97. Disgusting!
The oldest was 97. A woman.
The youngest age 54 was a guy, along with his brother age 58 i think.
Fortunately, the family with the infant wasn't there yet.

Sad part is they probably were not saved... :pensive:
First, you can't know a person's status with God. We can only see the outside. God looks upon the heart.

Second, even assuming you were correct, I cant think of a more tactless, inappropriate, meanspirited time to point it out. Kick 'em while they're down.

We Jews don't need your kind of love.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes. Jews across the country are hit hard by this and all of these posts and prayers and the vigils being held today really help us.

What is so tragically ironic is that this shooting took place during a bris. Many media outlets seemed embarrassed to call this what it is, which is a ritual circumcising of a baby, and called it instead a naming ceremony. But it is actually the initiation of the newborn into the covenant, the making of a new Jew.

That's what i heard. Baby naming.
The relief i felt that the baby's family had not arrived... believe me i cried.

It's happened in church's too.
Ya sit in the back wondering...from the many experiences the last decade what unhinged moron is cold enough to harm ppl celebrating their love for God?
And you pray for a conversion of heart so it cannot be.
Though you never know if it could, you pray so it will not occur.
Who knows how many have been thwarted by simply praying in anticipation.
And you never want to know, nor see it.

Catholics, from what was on the radio, were the first to help the ppl. Doing all they could.
We are, though at times unmindful, all connected as one.

This was a 1st for Pittsburgh.
It shook our city to the core and so many groups are praying.
We had intentions said at mass for the deceased and families.
Ppl i know .. knew someone.

God heal the survivors.
May he give eternal repose of the souls.
He reads hearts.
Peace.

Perhaps they were just trying to be gender inclusive? Seems it's a fad these days.
