Pipe smoking

It has been decades since I smokes but I am considering it again.

Any enthusiasts here?

Smoked only mainly cigarettes, white owls, swishers, a small portion of pipe smoke, never tried hookah smoke. Started smoking from a friend when I was around 14 or 15 years old off an older friend who smoked, that was around 2005.

What about you Akita? My last cigarrette was two nights ago, I just recently started to quit again because of the likeness of being able to hold energy longer and food taste so much better.

My dad smoked a pipe. He died when I was very young but every time I smell one, I think of him. But honestly, you should not pick up the habit if you can help it. Just saying.

I am ow 65. I smoked a pipe (with all sorts of stuff) when I was about 20.
I stopped because it was dirty and left the taste in my mouth.
But I do like the smell, especially when it is cold. and I like the artistry of some of the pipes.
Between the pipes and the tobaccos there is a world of detailed knowledge to catch up on.

I find all the varieties, styles, cuts, and places from interesting.
I wish i had a good tobacco shop near by where I could sniff some different blends and what not.

I wish I still had my dad’s pipe set. I can still picture it in my mind.

Akita, (With all sorts of stuff) ;wandering mind thinks; You have lived a very long time dear friend, my r/l friends mother is 65, she is the second oldest person I know in my life, aside from this one lady at work whom is 72.

The 72 year old lady husband is 56 and smokes like a chimney she had told me one evening and has bad health problems.

You are right when you talk about it leaving your mouth dirty all that smoke on your tongue, cheek, and teeth.

Ever since this covid stuff come about everything has shut down and you can barely find a good mom and pop owned tobacco shop probably with some good pipes, or pipe smoke to smell.

For the longest time l would smell something that triggered something very familiar, but for years I couldn't fugure out what I was smelling then one day I realized someone, somewhere was smoking a pipe, something my step father did often. Smelled nice.

It is weird how all of a sudden I am interested. Some pipes can go for hundreds. I'd rather buy another Bansuri flute.

I will probably get a cheap pipe and have one smoke.

If you want to help your sinus start using a neti pot. Not pleasant to send liquid through your nasal cavities but quite helpful. So long as it is saline or the special packs. use plain water at your own peril, I forgot once-never again!

Thats what my dad did... he never smoked, but he collected several of those intricately carved meerschaum pipes... he really liked those especially.

Can be expensive to collect, if memory serves.

I quit 35 years ago. I was a pipe smoker. I was an addict then and I still am. You cannot ever go back ---- don't even think of it. That is the first step.
