Someone once told me these types of palms are some of the oldest, predating even the age of the dinosaurs... Not sure if he was right, but I like the concept.
If you think about it, it looks kind of like a giant flower. Maybe pterodactyls pollinated it.
If that is a sago palm, it is not actually a palm. It is a cycads
