Phantom of the Opera...the movie?

I don't know if you all have heard but director Joel Shumaker (sp?) has made a film version of the world-famous musical. If you don't know who this guy is, it's the same director for such flops as "Batman Forever" and "Batman&Robin."
I don't know about you but after seeing those two movies I don't think this film will give the broadway show it's due respect.
Does any have any thoughts about the stage show becoming a film?

I dont know yet. The sets in batman are kind of cool and dark..just like in the musical.. I dont think its going to be that bad. All I can say its about time they made it into a film!

I've seen the Trailer. It looks pretty good to me (and as a die-hard POTO fan I'm very critical. Of course, trailers only reveal so much. I'm definately going to go see it though.
