For you it is a no brainer... for those who search the scriptures to see if it is so.. there is much prayer and study and waiting for the Lord to reveal to confirm or deny this concept of Peter as the rock which Yeshua was speaking of.

Well I use the Koine greek and if the Greek is feminine then that is how I translate it. If the RCs want to use Aramaic/Latin, that is their choice.

This "one true church" doctrine can be traced to one verse of Scripture, which, when compared with other Scriptures, is found not to teach this doctrine at all. When Jesus asked his disciples who He was, Peter responded:

Catholicism contends that the Lord was referring to Peter as the rock, and has since built the entire Catholic religion upon that premise. But all other pertinent Scriptures declare that Jesus was referring to Himself as the rock, not Peter:
"... for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." 1 Corinthians 10:4

Catholics also believe that Christ is the Rock, but in a different way...we believe that the Pope is Christ's visible representative upon earth, that's why he also is called "the rock". Christ is the one who builds the Church and He is the Head, and Peter is the one on whom the Church is built.

Hey Monica. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying Jesus is the Rock....not Peter. Take what you may out of that...but I didn't think of it that deep to be making any sort of judgment on anyone's heart.

Hi and thanks for placing the emphasis on what I wrote. As you rightly pointed out, it's a reminder to us all. How can it be judgemental when I say WE must remember to place God above Mary, Peter and anyone else. WE must remember to give glory only to God; not Mary, Peter or anyone else. How can this be arrogant as Monica says? I would've thought anyone in whatever denomination including the Pope in the RC denomination and Joseph Smith in the Mormon denomination would agree with what I've said.

Not sure you totally misunderstood, because it is pretty
much how protestants believe. Especially here on CF
because we tend to 'focus' on those subjects. Or when
I go to a relatives house and they have all these
ceramic things of mary, but Jesus never is mentioned...
HOWEVER, now that I've said that... protestants
do the same thing (according to God) just different
items, men or women.
