You break it, you fix it. Yes we were responsible for Afghanistan once we invaded. And yes, when you embolden your enemy by releasing 5k of them out of jail along with the leader who took reigns, then expect mayhem. Trump et al did set up milestones the Taliban were suppose to do since he released them out of jail. They did none of those. Again, Trump set the building of fire, with no plans to put it out, left it up to the follow on fire brigade, and then people point at their failure. He was responsible for what he did while president in this case. We as the US were no longer responsible for Afganistan. They had plenty of time to be able to build a government and military to.protect themselves. Although i will.say that he was wrong not to include the Afghan government in the talks. I will say that was a failure on his part in my opinion. But getting out was not.
Trump.wanting to get out was the right thing to do. But he wasn't responsible for how it went down. He wasn't in office. Biden was. How it went down and the failures involved was on him.because he was the Chief in charge. He could have put together a plan that worked. He didn't. He failed. Biden could have easily told rhe Taliban that any insurgency before the withdrawl would not be tolerated and would nullify any agreement and would be met with force. That would have allowed us to move out without the issues we saw. We could have taken out equipment with us and gotten all troops and Americans out. Biden failed, plain and simple.
