That's easy: sex sells.I have a serious pet peeve, and I've encountered it way too often. I can't understand how a sci-fi or fantasy author can invent such amazing worlds, but can only conceive of women in kinder and kuche roles! How can they be so creative about worlds and societies, but females are still the sexist stereotype?
I'm not talking about sex; I try to avoid books like that. I mean more like how women are portrayed in I, Robot, just to use that as an example. That's easy: sex sells.
I know what you mean, I think. I don't remember seeing I Robot. Interesting that today even the Pakistani military has women soldiers. The Victorian fainting waif image of women is a thing of the past so thoroughly, in Western countries, although maybe not completely absent in fiction or films.I'm not talking about sex; I try to avoid books like that. So I guess you want your daughter to feel free to pursue a wide and responsible range of careers, traditional or not, right?
We don't, no. We've been married a good few years but we were a bit older when we tied the knot, anyway. For me, career consideration for both of my children is completely based on what their God given talents and their own interests are, combined with economic feasibility. Their reproductive roles have nothing to do with it, although it will later when and if they do have kids of their own.
Do you have children, too?
I have a teen AND a toddler. God has a sense of humour. We don't, no. We've been married a good few years but we were a bit older when we tied the knot, anyway.
So how old would your 2 be? (roughly if you don't want to say too precisely).
Like, "You must agree with me because I want you to be right!"My pet peeve is when someone acts like they're absolutely certain they're right and they don't have all their facts straight, or they refuse to listen to others' opinions.
Hey, a pet peeve about a pet. Good oneWhen the dog's tie-up cable gets wrapped around a tree or something and I have to go out there and unwrap her, and it seems to happen most often when it is raining or cold.
I don't like the word "goodies" either. Or the word "jammies".calling SNACKS---> "MUNCHIES"
