CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Doing a job and knowing what those responsiblities are and then get a outline the next week about what your job is....then the next week get another one that has a highlighted part!

Hm ... Peeves aside, have you talked with whomever is giving you these notes? Sounds like there's some miscommunication there or a lack of understanding on their part of what you are accomplishing. Might be wise to straighten that out so as to ensure they know the value of what you're getting done....
My peeve: basically, being single in a church of mostly families. Families have totally different schedules than I do, which means I am frequently left out of activities because they're scheduled at times "that work for the majority." I know it's not done with bad intentions at all; but it's still irksome to be left out.

I'm sorry that that happens to you. For us now that our kids are basically grown, working around the ones with the little kids gets to be a bit irksome too.....so I do understand your point!!

EH, i'm just feeling basically peevish tonight. instead I should prolly try praising the Lord. It's just that I have so many responsibilities and so many flakes in my life. I sometimes wish I was surrounded by more capable, responsible people. I guess that's my real vent.

Thank you so much, ODAAT! You're such a blessing. 
Is it wrong that I have these peeves? Today I was asked to be the backup for a project but will be actually doing the project if no one else steps up (because I'm "the reliable one"). Basically, I'm the third choice, but they want me on board in case their first and second choices don't come through. Uh, OK................... Nuthin' like being considered someone's security blanket...
ETA: I'm just venting. Sometimes I like to be a little squirrelly.

No problem and yeah....that would be irritating!
Ok....so my pet peeve for the day.....I opened up a message on FB today and it put some kind of Protection Security thing and my screen went red and it started doing a warning and alert thing......I was so irritated and peeved that someone would send something like that to me! He put it that it was funny and it was a youtube thing....NOT FUNNY! Needless to say....he was deleted and we are not receiving anymore messages from him!

Not a pet peeve but an update! Could hardly get on my computer today and spent literally hours to get that program off my computer. So we logged into guest and then reset my system to several days ago.....and it worked....
I am so happy for that now! But it was a major headache!!

Wow yeah, that headache emoticons says it all, huh? Glad you figured out how to get it fixed. I'm always pleased when I can fix something technical. Generally speaking these things don't make a lot of sense to me.
Like right now my phone line doesn't work. I had messed around with the Internet access, and that has caused this mysterious problem. My roommate and I don't know how to fix it. Yet.

Well, I hope that you can get it fixed. Is there someone that you know that can help you out? I know for me....it's when my husband starts messing around with things they get messed up so I didn't let him mess around with my computer....he could tell me but I wouldn't give hime the computer...hahahaha! Generally, we end up getting our 16 yr old son to come and do things....he's very technical...PTL!!

Lack of communication -- that's my peeve. I seem to have been dropped from my ministry position without having been told anything. Without the leaders having the courtesy to talk with me. All of a sudden I'm on "backup." Sheeez. At least talk to me.
