  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Major pet peeve: When people assume in advance, before I even try, that I'm going to mess up. Oh, how I hate that! Or, they don't give me a chance to learn from my mistake, but at the first sign of not getting it down perfect, they grab it out of my hands and do it themselves.

I've had co-workers like that. They are supposed to be training me, but instead they are only interested in showing me how much better they are at the job than I am. It's one of the fears I have about going back to work.

Our dog and the damage she has done to the backyard.
I can so relate!!!:D

I hate when people distract me from what I am doing, because I always end up forgetting what I was going to do next. Plus, slowing me down.

I understand that fear, LovebirdsFlying. Some people are so impatient. They expect others to be perfect, but they don't hold themselves to the same standard.

I hope you find yourself in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. If you ever find yourself intimidated, remember that it is a virtue to be encouraging and capable of training others -- that's the mark of a good manager. It's a lack of professionalism to grab a task/project back and do it yourself.

My pet peeve is people who don't do a job well, from start to finish. Case in point: My idiot boss needed to get the staff to do a very small project and have it emailed to our clients. First, he gave careless, incomplete instructions, so our staff was confused. Then he didn't arrange any sort of meeting to talk about the project. Then, he failed to give instructions on how and when and TO WHOM to email the project!!! And he left early for the weekend -- and the project was DUE that day to the client. HELLO? So guess who had to rescue the project all along the way?

I think my only protection from his idiocy in the future is to distance myself from him. He's a mess and he's drawn me into his mess.

I have a pet peeve with people who think "lives in a mobile home" equals "trailer trash." You don't have to be trash to live in a mobile home, and you don't have to live in a mobile home to act like trailer trash.

It was the same way when I lived in the inner city, before moving to Washington. I volunteered a lot of time picking up litter out of the apartment parking lots, trying to show my neighbors that the words "poor" and "trash" don't have to go together.

My peeve is with those who make the automatic connection between income and "class," but even more with the lazy slobs in the inner cities and mobile home parks who don't take care of the premises, and perpetuate that stereotype. It's thanks to *them* that people would label *me* trash for living there.

Wow, I'm the princess of peeves lately. :sorry: I should probably be in therapy, but it's cheaper to just post here. lol.

Today's peeve is people who don't listen when you tell them their "solution" doesn't work. They are just trying to give you a fast answer to get you out of their hair, but it doesn't solve anything and you are still stuck with the problem on your hands. Grrr...

Good one. Or when you ask a question, and the person who is supposed to be helping you misunderstands the question, answers what you didn't ask, and leaves you with no answer to what you did ask. Then when you try to explain your question, they get mad and say they already answered you.

jenster i love your avatar!
today i am bothered by people who say the same words over and over. for example, my boss. tomorrow i will be bothered by something else i imagine :D
I hear you, KellyC! My boss tells the same stories over and over. For awhile I got so annoyed but the Lord has helped me to just smile and look interested. If I'm really in a hurry, I'll try to finish his story for him, to give him the hint that he's repeating himself. He's got an ego, so he wouldn't be OK with my gently teasing him about it.

Yeah! That is so aggravating, Lovebirds!
