• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Big Bro, happy birthday once again -- turning 24, hope you are enjoying your birthday at the moment! (it's early hours -- but you can still enjoy it!)

The personality test is just one of them and there are others that can tell you different things.

You are a strong individualist who seeks out new angles or novel ways of looking at things...enjoy coming to new understandings...insightful and mentally quick...but this quickness is not always obvious to others since you keep a lot to yourself...you're logical and analytical and ingenious..
You are very determined and trust your vision of the possibilities, regardless of what other people think...you are VERY independent...you are quiet yet firm....You're a damn perfectionist!!
Appear serious and reserved... might be labelled "brains" by others...you probably do/did well in school because you set internal goals for yourself.. being sociable just isn't worth your time and energy...unless there's a purpose for you...you don't like bureaucracy icky because you have to fit into other people's systems and not your own...
You might be frugal unless the money is spent on something you value (like education or a Storm Palace subscription)...you learn best when you can design your own approach...you have a thirst for knowledge..you probably enjoy lectures, libraries, courses and so on...
You are highly independent, and continue on with your plans even in the face of data that might suggest to others that it's no longer feasible... independent individualist....surprised when others don't see your visions the same clear way you do...a job well done doesn't need comment, it speaks for itself...you like decisive and intellectual people...
Man! You're one hell of a relentless organizer! ....tough-minded... once you make your mind up to do something, nothing can stop you.... even your leisure is planned, regualar and disciplined....you tend to avoid fads...you tend to choose partners in your love life who have an outward zest....you keep your affections private, and don't always share 'em with your partner..
You can be intense in your love...generous with gifts if it fits into the ideal the way love should be...when scorned, you retreat into your own world and may share none of your hurt feelings with anyone...you look for the "right" way to end a relationship...
Things to watch for: let go of impractical ideas....don't get so tied up in future thoughts that you ignore the present; you could be surprised... don't ignore the impact of your style on others..not everyone functions the way you do....you might criticize anyone who doesn't match up to how you think they should be...don't become obsessed with unimportant details... demanding...critical...

I believe so far I'm the only one who got ISTP

Introverted - 67%
Sensing - 1%
Thinking - 12%
Perceiving - 56%

You are:
 • distinctively expressed introvert
 • slightly expressed sensing personality
 • slightly expressed thinking personality
 • moderately expressed perceiving personality
Though I don't know if that's exactly a desirable result or not...

Actually in the general population, ISTP's are not super rare. Go to http://www.infj.org/typestats.html for type statistics.

As for what is desirable, all types have their strengths and weaknesses. However, I would say that it is much easier to connect with others as an S type because S types outnumber N types 3 to 1.

Though the ISTP percentages seem about right, other statistics on that page are highly questionable. INTPs are found in approximately 1% of the general population, not 5%. In fact, it appears that other introverted intuitive types are over represented as well. Or perhaps I should move to Canada, eh?

It's interesting how there are apparently more male than female intuitives. The general stereotype seems to be that women are more intuitive. Stereotypes can definitely be wrong though.

Anyone else notice the incredible percentage of introverts on this forum? Get out in the real world people! You're just socializing in large groups online!

I'm an INFJ, though, there's one question that I can't decide yes or no on, and if I change it to a no, I'm ENFJ, with 1% to the extroverted. So, I'm borderline. I've been trying to become more extroverted over the last few months, I guess it shows.

Extraversion/Introversion (E/I)

The first letter position can be either E or I, standing for Extraverted or Introverted. In a nutshell, this describes how we are "energised": extraverts recharge and get energised from lots of interaction with other people, while introverts need to spend time alone to recharge their internal batteries. Note that E or I does not necessarily have anything to do with "shyness" as such. There are plenty of introverts that easily pass as extraverts, except of course that they need to recharge their energies by spending time alone. The general public stereotype of introverts as pathological, reclusive and hermit-like is an inaccurate by-product of the glorious psychiatry days (remember the ice-pick lobotomies?). Some introverts are able to live happily isolated from people, while others (such as INFJs) regularly need to have people around to survive - these are the "affiliative introverts," a lighthearted label which some would say is a contradiction in terms!

I think this is a rather shallow and inaccurate generalisation on introversion; many introverts aren't "bound up" but actually thrive on companionship and small gatherings of people, especially close friends.

Indeed none the wiser, we were built to be in relationship with people. Not necessarily to always be in groups of people or receive our energy from them, but to "thrive on companionship and small gatherings of people" is an integral part of the life of a disciple of Christ.

I think you were trying to help me figure out whether I am an introvert or an extrovert. As I think about it, the answer is both. I've always been very strongly introverted, but I am learning to gain energy from groups of people. More than I'm introverted or extroverted, I'm practical. :)
