Hi everyone. I've been posting a bit in the non-denominational section, they seem to have some interesting discussions in there, but my first time in this section.

I find myself wanting to do more for the Church. I lead singing and teach Bible classes when I can, but those things minister to those who are already either in the Lord's Church or are already though the doors and are hearing the Gospel taught (Rom 10:17). I want to reach out more to those who are not already hearing. I write a blog and it does get a few modest hits, but I still want to do more.

What are some things you do personally to bring people to Him? I know we all work jobs throughout the week, I work odd hours in the military, but I just wanted to know what y'all do.

Thanks!

I have been thinking about printing up some business type cards with my contact info, the location and times of worship for the congregation that I worship with, and maybe an encouraging verse or two. Anyone have success with this approach, handing over to a person after a good conversation?

How about congregational evangelism? I don't feel that door knocking works anymore. Has anyone had success with direct mail or door knob hangers/fliers?

Thank you for your thoughts.

We have a congregational card that the church gives out, saying that "the small gift you just received comes from "Ya Da" church (address, etc.), and it was just to let you know you matter, and God cares about you."

We usually ask checkout people what candy bar they like... we look over and pick up one.... tell them to add it to our bill, and then we leave the candy bar with them, along with the card.

I have done a ton of door-to-door work, tract distribution, as well as the usual workplace and friendship evangelism. I tried street preaching, but the overall pitch of the traffic noise was the same as my own voice, so people did not hear me. I even went with a friend to pass out specialized tracts at a JW Kingdom Hall. My advice is to try out any and all types of evangelism and see what fits best.
