  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

One reason is scientist dont want to admit that they are wrong. And since god isnt allowed in schools anymore its just not mintioned. Then you have secular huminists and atheists, that will deny anything god related. Then you have organizations like Unicef and planned parent hood, teaching that being gay is ok and having abortions is ok then giving out condems. So basicly the school system in general is corrupt. And these people and organizations are the minority but we as christians have done nothing to change anything. If we as belivers stood togather with one voice we could make a change, but untill then all we will get is garbage.

Very true. It is very sad what public school encourages, and how it corrupts so many! 20 Compelling Evidences That God Exists, is a great book I read recently, which discusses many different scientific (and other) reasons why God exists. You might want to check it out.... It is written by Kenneth D. Boa and Robert M. Bowman Jr. Here are a couple quotes from scientists/intellectuals I found interesting (from the book I mentioned)...

"The more I examine the universe and the details of its architecture, the more evidence I find that the universe in some sense must have known we were coming." Freeman Dyson

"The odds against a universe like ours emerging out of something like the big bang are enormous...I think clearly there are religous implications whenever you start to discuss the origins of the universe." Stephen W. Hawking

My job is science related and quite simply the reason why they can't change science to incorporate religion is because science is science and religion is religion! I don't know about schools where you are but in England school teach Religious Education as well as science. It's a separate lesson but it explores many religions so that the pupils gain an understanding of the beliefs that people they meet in the future may have.

Albert Einstein once said "Science without religion is lame; Religion without science is blind". That quote speaks to me. I truely believe that people can have room for both and should try to have room for both.

"a little science estranges men from God, but more science brings them back to Him."

-can't remember :sorry:

Surprised and pleased that Stephen Hawking believes that there was a religious reason for the Earth's existence. I thought his theory went against creationism.

Is he is a Christian, or simply somebody who believes that the earth probably had a creator?

Thanks, Steve

We definately dont need to study science in order to follow Christ though. Hebrews talks about faith is the substance of things hoped for, not seen. I guess that means we are pretty blind, we have faith in a God who we cannot physically see, but just that the evidence points towards it and the miracle in our own lives tells us that He exists. Of course I believe science is a wonderful way of studying God's creation and understanding so much more about a wonderful God we have :)
