I am not like Christian females. I am not sure what or how you Christians can or would deal with that.

I shoot, and shoot very well; pistol, carbine, rifle and shotgun. I practice and teach self-defense, empty-hand, knife and firearm. I go, sometimes for weeks, alone, into the wilderness. I hunt. I skin, gut and clean animals I take down. I live alone and independently and intend to keep it that way. I do not knit, sow pictures or make any thing 'cute'. I do not wear dresses or use makeup or do anything to “look pretty”. I am NOT pretty. In fact I am quite ugly. I even have a scar across my face (given to me by a Christian man long ago).

My question is: Does your faith have any place for a useless female such as me? I am useless because of my unwillingness to marry, my inability to have children and my lack of being “feminine: in any way shape or form according to Christianity.

Did you know that there were women warriors, so to speak, in the Bible?

Have you heard of Deborah?

Well, she does not seem to do very much. She seems utterly and totally dependent on men to do everything for her. I depend on men to do NOTHING for me.

Actually, the leader of the Israeli army would not go to war (face the other army/the enemy) without her. She actually led the army into battle.

Everyone, if given the necessary freedom, will become someone that God prefers us not to be. This is because we do sin. That is the definition of sin. The gospel of Jesus Christ is to give up our own desires that conflict with what God's desire for us is, and that way become a sheep whose inheritance is everlasting life (Matthew 25:31-46). Even to those who go the full distance in service, to live entirely for Him and to do whatever He wants them to do, they will not be disappointed. Romans 12:1. Matthew 19:23-29.

That is all the 'confirmation' I need.

Thank you for your time.

Good bye.

Sure. It is not good to be lukewarm (Matthew 6:24), otherwise you may come to despise Him because of having sacrificed half-heartedly.

The point of my comment seems to have been overlooked though, that is, not Christians, church etc that you should offer yourself to, but Him. When we are living against His desire for us, it is bound to frustrate Him.

Check out this, that I found quite helpful this past week, from Wikipedia:

" According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a mortal or deadly sin is believed to destroy the life of grace and charity within a person. "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_deadly_sins

Grace is needed to make a person likeable, charity is needed to make the world liveable for others. Both therefore contribute to one's suitability for living without end, and these sins are those we must be the master of. Check it out, it's interesting to learn. It is all rooted in the person being interested in their self and not others. That is the opposite to love as the Christians learn to understand it.

But this is not meant to say that your skills and character are not useful to Him. brinny has been explaining this, to encourage you too.

It is now quite clear. I can NEVER trust YOU

Good bye and LEAVE ME ALONE!
This makes me sad, but whereas if you can explain to me what I have done wrong then I will be sorry. I just had to tell you the way that it makes me feel. I will avoid you now, to reduce the stress it causes you.

I think you should read the bible and do what you want. I'm sorry some guy cut your face and maybe much more. But I don't believe a Godly man would do that. I think most people claim to be Godly aren't. I don't think of faith as a place where people accept you. I think God can love and accept anyone. Faith is believing in God/ Jesus or who ever you believe in.

I am no "prophet" or "leader of Israel's Army" so VERY clearly I a nothing but a "harlot" and worthless female to Christians.

I am sure you are not worthless, neither a harlot. Even if you were, Jesus spent much time with harlot's and prostitutes. The bible says "God is love", God loves you.

My reply came off as a personal attack against you and that is not what I meant. Sorry for the poor wording. I was not a personal attack or really directed at you.

You are important Leah, I know it's hard to believe in a world of billions - but truly I feel every person has a purpose. if a simple gesture, word, smile or unthinking action can change the life of another dramatically - that person has made an impact. It's not easy to understand that no person is worthless, I hope you know people can and do care without knowing you or others. The biggest barriers we have to overcome are often our own.

You don't have to trust me, that's not what I ask - just consider I care.

Remember the most unassuming women can make the most difference. War-time tragedies are rich with tales of women doing above and beyond what their counterpart (males) would. There is no stereotypical woman in Gods view, only a cultural and worldly one.

I am a Christian woman and frankly, I admire what you said! You are not useless at all. Sounds like you have far more useful skills than many folks lol. I am a feminist, so I don't fit in with a lot of Christian crowds, but I always fit in with Jesus/God. Please, listen to all the affirmations, not the folks who tell you that you are wrong and can't fit in. So many people think that their culture's gender stereotypes are Christian when they are actually just cultural. Frankly, it matters most what God thinks, not Christians, but it does feel good to fit in sometimes.

I recommend the book Fire by Night by Lynn Austin. Set in the Civil War, it follows the lives of 2 women: a 'proper' woman and a hunting and shooting woman who disguises herself as a man to fight in the army! They eventually meet and become friends. The socialite realizes she doesn't have to live up to society's expectations of what it means to be female, and the army woman learns to celebrate the amazing person that she is, even though others think her different. Best of all, it is a Christian book and really shows God's love for all of us unique individuals.

Finally, think of this: it is the rare gem that is far more valuable!

"Does your faith have any place for a useless female such as me?"

Leah,
You seem to be amiss in the way you're seeing things. (I write this kindly, as a person who has a fair amount of experience in seeing things wrong.)

First, you asking the wrong people; this question of yours is not for us to answer. It's not a matter of being accepted by people, but by God. And the only thing making us unacceptable to Him is unforgiven sin.

Leah, also if I am understanding you, you may be interested in one of the pleasures I have found in being acceptable to God. One of the most profound mysteries of the good news of Jesus is that through him I am fully known by a Person of immeasurable goodness and - even while he sees all my lack of goodness - he fully accepts me as his beloved son.
