Don't you hate it in school when a teacher would go to erase the blackboard and would leave one portion of a line un-erased? Aauuugghh, that drove me crazy. I'm glad I'm not in school anymore.


Anyway...can I join the club? My biggest problem is with mis-pronounced words. Like when people say "nuke-you-lar" for nuclear (our own US President does that), or "counsel" for console.

Swartchenegger for Schwartzenegger (Arnold)

There... I got that off my chest...

Yuck!! I live in the Hoosier state, and I say "fer" for "for" and "intrussting" for "interesting." I hear myself say it all the time and it drives me simply mad, but I just can't make myself remember to say them correctly

I have, occasionally, mispronounced things just to bother somebody who I know doesn't like it. Like my brother, for instance.

/me says that his calculus teacher calls all the white marks on an ill-erased chalkboard "potential minus signs"

/me doesn't like it when the potential minus signs become genuine minus signs where her allowance is concerned

/me just noticed something that really bothers her

/me saw her 4-H leader writing some dates on the board, and regardless off where the "r" 's and "a" 's are at in the word, she uses capitals

/me , as the secretary, took it upon herself to correct it, and made the entire club giggle when she explained what she was doing and why she was doing it

/me finds it annoying when PUBLISHED BOOKS put "1620 AD" or whatever.. it's "AD 1620," bah.

/me hasn't read any books from 1620 lately, so she really wouldn't notice

/me doesn't like finding grammatical errors in NYT best sellers, though she rarely reads any on that list

/me thinks that they put out that list and then after everyone reads the top book, it's the #1 seller.

/me thinks that sounds like it would follow the logic that one would expect of a newspaper

/me doesn't put much stock in what most other people think are good books - she likes to decide for herself

/me puts stock in people that he knows have good taste, but not in random people from the worldly side

/me doesn't care what sort of taste people have - within the bounds of the given article being glorifying to God

/me doesn't know anybody with tastes as eclectic/picky as hers

/me meant that he doesn't trust people that think <insert some stupid modern romantic novel here taht should be rated "X" > is a great book.

/me isn't sure there are many very good modern authors, they seem to be all weird

/me thinks it's sad that something apparently to that approximate power was required reading at a local school, and went before the school board and everything, and it didn't get changed - high school student still had to read that garbage to pass the class

/me likes Lauraine Snelling and some weird ones like Frank Peretti and Tom Clancy

/me remembers that his brother had to read some awful book for English... really bad book, heh.
