• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People with journals will have a JOURNAL icon in posts with a link to the journal...

The icon looks like a big J under their username... :)

All new journals will get this automatically.

1. Members with existing journals won't have a J in their posts until they make a new journal entry - the J will then show up.

2. If you have a journal, the journal link in the navbar goes to your journal - otherwise, it goes to the journal forum.

3. If you choose to hide your Journal icon, you can do so in the User CP, Options. Your journal will remain public though. If you want a private journal, post in the Member's Draft forum.

NOTE: I fixed a bug - if the journal icon links to the wrong post, make sure you enter a new journal entry to fix it.

Coolio!!! Is there a way to make it 'link' to the most current entry? I find myself reading very old entries... :confused: LOL That'd be great if it's possible.

the "J" will only show up when you updated your journal.

However, I'd like to see that the word "journal" in the navbar links to my personal journal, not to the Christian Journal Page.

Erwin, when you are FULLY rested and SANE, could you see if it's workable? If I click on "own" (on the navbar) to find my own posts, wouldn't it work to click on "journal" to take me directly to my own journal?

Hope I wasn't out of line for requesting that!

Good suggestions.

If you already have an icon, it will not work UNTIL YOU MAKE A NEW ENTRY! :) So make a new entry first before you test the icon or the link in the navbar.

I might be weird saying this, but what if you DON'T want people reading your journal?
You might ask why i posted a journal on CF if i don't want people reading it and such, but I just think this to be a nice safe place to write my thoughts and it is convenient as i do other things here... :|

I'm wondering if you could make it an option for journal-writers to have their journal icon showing?
Because sometimes i go on more serious forums like the Philosophy & Morality thing, and i don't want my journal which shows my life/feelings/etc shattering my rep or my dignity there.... :sorry: I'd prefer random people to read my journal, not knowing who i am kind of thing... not people i might actually converse with on CF frequently.

But if it's too much, then nevermind.

Well, People can read your journal regardless of you having the journal Icon or not.
