So I had a guy comment on my post who was claiming to be a "Christian witch". Where do people get these contradictory ideas? Are people honestly that mixed up or is the intent to mock God? The reason why people have such a problem with Christians is because a bunch of people that don't even follow Jesus go around calling themselves Christian.

A man can't be a "witch" in any case, so regardless of everything else that could be said about this kind of thing (which I also have encountered), what we see is that anybody can describe his beliefs in just about any fashion that appeals to him these days and get away with it. That's the style of our times.

Look, you can call yourself 'transgendered' now and not even change your gender! Just say it's your self-image. So when it comes to religion, you can well imagine that the standard is..."anything goes!"

Of course, this DOES have the effect of making serious inquirers confused and inclined to think that Christians are nutty since....after all, they heard someone claim to be both a Christian and a witch or something even less credible than that.

That description of "Christian witch" sounds like it could be Santaria. It is a religion based on Catholicism, but mixes in a lot of the really creepy stuff from Voodo.

A man can't be a "witch"
So what DO you call a male who practices witchcraft?

(hint: they do not use the term "warlock" in that sense anymore)

I agree. Just because you sit in a garage doesn't make you a car! LOL. :) Labels don't mean anything. We have to judge people by their fruits.
