British Empire once controlled the oil of the Middle East for what little it was worth at the time.. Russia was promised a small part, the fields of Syria if the helped defeat Germany. Britain had to turn control over to the US for war debts and the Americans reneged on the deal. Russia has been trying to get what was promised ever since.

The time of countries stealing resources after military action is supposed to be over. For the world’s only superpower to be openly talking about it is jaw dropping. This should be the biggest story in the media right now.
