That is also a good way to put it, and I suppose that some confinement would definently help MANY attending students come closer to God, it's kind of like one on one time (completely) with God.

Hey Andrew. I support you 100% I am leaving in just a few days to enter my first year at Pensacola. I am extremely excited. I am in the same boat that you are in. The rules do not bother me. I feel that to have such an issue( and obviously it is an issue) with rules gives others a glimps of your true character. I also find it ironic that so many who have never attended PCC are able to sit around and spout such venom(IT's actually really sad). We as christians do not have the right to sit around and judge others for how God has told them to conduct their ministries(Judgement is up to GOD). God has told us to "touch not mine annointed", and this school has clearly been annointed by God. How else do you explain the hundreds of souls that have been saved and lives transformed. After all... that IS the most important thing... isn't it? Or has our comfort and desire to "Live our own lives" slowly moved is way up to the top 3 reasons for living a christian life, and I just missed that memo. I hope that when God impresses on your heart for you to go where He wants you to go, that you will willingly follow, even if it doesn't seem to be an easy thing. The safest place on this earth is in the center of our God's will. God bless you.

Of course judgtement is up to God. It is not "judgement " to decide that a college is not for you, or that you think a particular rule is stupid. Those are decisions, not judgement. When we are instructed not to judge, it means that we are not to declare "He's a believer." "She is not a Christian." "Anyone who would do that is a pagan." "You are not a real Christian if you do not believe as I believe."

To not like a rule tells you nothing about a persons character. To sign a contract that you will obey rules when yo don't intend to, that tells you something about character.

A Christian college exist, or should exist, to educate from a Christian perspective.

My, my. Who's judging now?? If people do not agree with PCC rules they are rebeling against God? PCC rules are God given?

Agreed completely. Often as christians we find it difficult to discern what is a decision and what is a judgement. I think you have a good grasp on the distinction between the two.

This is of course a matter of opinion.
The purpose and mission of a College is really up to the college to decide don't you think?
Actually I think transforming lives is the best definition of what a Christian College should do.

Well, God speaks to us all. So judgement is from our conscience, something that God gave us in order to use with faith. We make decisions based on that and in turn, judgement is asserted by our willingness to act upon a good decision. This also depends on a persons preferences...I suppose...

I think he is not so much talking about "good judgements" vs bad ones, but rather judgement in the form of judging someone.

Anyway, it's been a long time since I posted in this thread but I wanted to say thanks to everyone for your advice, intelligence, and guidance. Since this thread died, I still have not changed my opinion about Pensecola, and in fact, I have become very excited about attending there. Thanks again! God bless you guys!

I went to visit PCC, because I wanted to go to a good college. The people there were very nice, and there are a lot of rules, but the atmosphere is wonderful. Some people see it as strict, but most of the things I was used to. I hope that you have fun! I was going to go but because they aren't accredited, I couldn't. I would still love to go, but unfortunately the credits will not transfer back to my school. Just prepare yourself for some different rules and the other students will help you. Some things like separate elevators and stairs kind of through me. I am not judging PCC, but just be prepared. Hope this helps.

I'm confused. The kind of answers you wanted were ones that praised the college, not ones that were honest?

Hey Andrew:
I skipped the last 3 pages of posts and decided just to give you the 411 on it all. I qualify to give it as I was there 5.5 years. In fact, I graduated.
Should you have specific questions, please feel free to ask me. I have broken about every one of them. My opinion is about as unbiased as it gets. I never recommend the place nor do I attempt to deter anyone who feels they should go there.
However, if you want to know the type people that the college produces I can give you a forum to go to. You would be shocked. I certainly was shocked.
As you have seen there are varying views on PCC. Few are pro-PCC. Most are not. Your not likely to get the straight 411 by asking the college. (And certainly not a rep or ensemble member) However, you will also get second hand versions by asking the general "crowd". Some of this may be true. Some not so true.
Should you not like to ask me questions, thats okay. You can (however I dont recommend doing this) ask someone who is a paid and biased by calling the college at 1-800-PCC-INFO.
or www.PCCI.edu which is the official generic and uninformative website.
I can give you others upon request which are not official sites but give you an idea of what type student graduates from there.

I was looking for unbiased honest opinions. Most of the people here are biased at saying the college is bad because of the rules. That is a flaw that I tend to stray away from when getting someone's opinion.

Yes, when someone says they liked the college against everyone else that is saying that they hate it. That is being unbiased. To be biased is to lean towards a certain opinion because of someone else or because of a specific point related to the argument.

Simply put, I was originally looking for the opinions of those that attended there, and I am more likely to refer to their opinions on the college because they have actually had the experience, versus one who has not attended yet still says it's a bad place to go. Anyone can read the rules and say they don't like them, but not everyone goes and experiences them first hand.

if someone attended the school, and graduated, they are likely to be biased for the school... so either way, you are getting a biased answer.

Why not take both sides to determine your future?

When I was deciding which college to go to, I talked to students that attended (all of which appeared to love the school), I also talked to community members (most of whom appeared to think highly of the school), I then talked to others-- I checked out the Underground forum of the school, I checked out Myspace messages, Xanga groups, and lots of other online sources... I compiled the information and made my decision from them.

Well I have, but I am strongly considering people who have gone there over people who have not. And if the school was so bad, and there were people that went there and thought that, I would expect they would speak up. That's what I mean.

I have been "considering" all points made here, minus the points about the rules, because I have done alot of research on the rules and my decision according to them rests.
