My conviction is that it is wrong, no matter what resources or authors support it. Maybe has to do with my own molested experience as a very young child, it remains strong feeling that this is wrong, and no amount of scholarly dance is going to change "that feeling".

I am pretty sure, you can ask almost any innocent child, how did they like it, and the answer is "NOT" That should be our answer too. This shouldn't be a question, but a conviction that God has given all His children on this question.

The inclination has its origins deep in childhood. It is, in essence, an inability to bond with those on one's own maturity level. The idea of being vulnerable to someone that is one's equal makes them too anxious. Children are easy to control, thus no anxiety. It can have its roots in their own sexual abuse. Some researchers are now are saying that pedophilia is a sexual orientation no different from heterosexuality or homosexuality.

IMHO, just because something is a disorder doesn't mean it's not evil. Severe psychopathy is a disorder of the brain, and it's definitely evil.

One thing that should be mentioned is that only about half of those who are caught having sex with children are attracted to children. The other half do it out of anger or some personality disorder.

It should also be said that not all pedophiles molest kids. Many are deeply shamed by their inclinations and resist. Resisting porn is much, much harder.

There is also aversion therapy for offenders.

However, therapy does not have a very good prognosis. Those who have offended are extremely likely to re-offend.

Therefore, since society isn't willing to put pedophiles behind bars for life without parole, and has no alternate solution that puts them at a safe distance from children, you have to ask yourself, WHAT'S UP.
