• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have PCOS and I am having trouble losing weight because I have an issue with gluttony due to self control issues. Everyday is a struggle, yet I don't usually feel guilty about overeating. I do work on ways to improve my diet and I don't lead the most sedentary lifestyle. I am just concerned because I am also diabetic. I have no clue how much I wish to lose and how overweight I am. What plan should I be on or rather how should I formulate my plan?

Have you talked with your doctor? Probably that is the first step you might want to take. My doc sent me to a nutritionist at one point to figure out how to address my eating and health. I'd start there, because we can tell you all kinds of things, but you need something taylored to you.

Thank you. I weighed 310 and since I want to weigh 200 lbs. The truth is, I haven't weighed 200 lbs in years. I realize that I have gotten so fat that 200 lbs is small for me. I'm not complaining and I never complained about being fat, but that doesn't mean that being overweight doesn't have its drawbacks. I don't feel judged because of my weight, but my health has gone down overall partly because of it and also the PCOS. So far I have lost weight, but I am on what they call a plateau. I hope to see my nutritionist soon.
