It depends what you like.

PC games:
Pros
-better graphics
-better control options
-better online
-deeper experience
-way more customizable
-way more games
-you can easily emulate any console game a few years old
Cons
-expensive to get a new system/maintain the current one
-sometimes it's a pain to get the games to work right
-unless you have a huge moniter or have the PC connected to a TV, multiplayer games aren't as fun

Console Games:
Pros
-Cheap
-awesome of multiplayer
-easy to hook up to a huge screen
-great for arcade-style games
Cons
-aren't as deep or complex as computer games
-the graphics aren't as good...the graphics system only gets upgraded every five years or so
-mod chips are a pain to install:D

I think that's an accurate comparison.

Personnally I like PC gaming better overall, although I don't limit myself to it! I use both.

I have to say console. The graphics may not be bleeding edge, but they’re never ugly. The biggest benefit is that there is a universal standard for the developers to work towards. They know exactly what the machine can and cannot do so they are able to tailor the game to the console. The only way to play most PCs games the way they were meant to be played is to spend ridiculous amounts of money to upgrade every year. I’m a very picky gamer who demands smooth frame rates and tight responsive controls. I’ve never been able to drop thousands into a gaming system so whenever I played PC games it was frustrating to have the game skip and drop to around 4 FPS every time something big or surprising happened. I would be helpless in game for a few seconds until my machine “caught its breath.” Also, I find Japanese console games to be more creative and interesting. American PC games tend to stick to the same genres and beat them to death until they stop bleeding money (like WWII first-person shooters).

Well since I am but a poor hispanic boy who can't afford a good computer, I'd have to say console games. Plus I hate the whole keyboard thing for the controls. I like something I can wrap my hands around to control my cosmic space ranger while he shoots an ultra plasma rifle of death into a raging horde of merciless zombie aliens. But thats just my personal preference.

I agree except where FPSs are concerned. Gamepad can't compare to keyboard/mouse for shooters. Well, and RTS.

I mostly play military tactical shooters/sims and MMORPG's so the PC is for me for sure. Sure console has some military tacticals but you can mod them more easily on a PC than you can with a console, if at all. I also like some flight sims (true to life ones not flight shooters) and console just can't pull that either. Consoles have great sports games though, but most of the types of games on console I just have little interest in.

Are you saying that Final Fantasy hasn't been beaten to death over a dozen times?

Console games are generally better for the reason that you don't have to upgrade your system....except FPS's...I can't play those on consoles...
You can plug a keyboard and mouse into the PS2's USB ports. Plus, you do have to upgrade your consoles every 4-5 years.:)

Can you remap the keys and set it up to play FPSs with mouselook?
