  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Personally I think it should be taken exactly as said. I don't see how one could come to the conclusion Paul is admitting to being under the law, especially considering Romans and Galatians. To believe such would IMHO be double tongued IOW lying. In which case Paul couldn't be legit and the Bible then becomes an unreliable source to base anything on. The same goes for Moses.
Paul explained very well that he was in Adam as to the old man flesh nature and in Christ, as to the new man spirit nature, dually, and died daily to the manner of that old man, as Jesus said to do by taking up the cross and following Him, reckoning the old man dead with Christ, buried with Christ, and risen with Christ [by faith, only, until we receive the promised body of regeneration/resurrection.
The Law was made for sinners, and to show the Way in to the courts of heaven as New Men: the how and the why was signs/oracles given only to the namesake people of the New Man name to rehearse, to show the Way, which the Law never got one into, but showed what would come and how we would go in and reach the Goal, which is "Christ" -to be new men in Christ, both in regenerated spirit and in regenerated body.
Paul tries to explain why the Law does not get one there, that is; to get one made new, and it is the Law given only to Israel to rehearse, which shows the Way which was to come, for all peoples.

No one is perfected in body yet, and the Way is open for Jews, first, and also for Gentiles since the once for all Acceptable Atonement/Day of the LORD, which made an end of the remembrance of sin before the Glory above, and opened the Door that WHosoever will may go in.
But we are not in, bodily, and though we are one in Spirit with the Head/Firstborn on that One New Man, by being adopted into Christ, we yet wait for the Perfecting of the body and the physical entrance into the presence of the Glory in heaven's temple.
This is the age of the Gospel when all nations are called to partake of the Passover Lamb and the Atonement, which made an end of sin, by faith; which is "of the Jews" keeping and Oracles/Law teaching; but by no means is the namesake people of the New Man name to become "gentilized" and to forsake Moses. That would be a sin, and whoever teaches such will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The Atonement is fulfilled, and that is done once, for all, but in Israel, when the kingdom is restored, it will be kept as a Feast day of rejoicing instead of a day of repentance, looking back to the Once for all Acceptable Sacrifice; and the complete fulfillment of all written in the Law will not come until the last feast/Tabernacles is totally fulfilled in the last harvest of ingathered sons of God at the end of the Sabbath Millennium, and the last Oracle given to the promised People of the Naw Man name to be fulfilled totally, is circumcision. Until then, the namesake people of the New Man name wear that Oracle/Sign, in their flesh, and keep Moses, to fulfill what they are bound by oath to keep, until the regeneration of all things.

To reiterate: the namesake people of the New Man name, Israel, are those to whom the Oracles are committed to keep, until every single one of them is completely fulfilled. The last one to be fuflilled is circumcision, when Adam flesh nature is no more, and never multiplies its kind by the seed within itself; which fulfillment is only after the end of the 7th day of millennial days, and at the beginning of the 8th Day; which is that "Great Day" of Regeneration of all things, when all things are made new.

I'm sorry I can't understand you because of the terms you use. And if you can't use the name of Jesus we have nothing to talk about and you have nothing to say to a Christian IMHO. I didn't say you weren't a Christian for the benefit of the administration.

Jesus fulfilled ALL of the law including circumcision. What remains is the end of days. We live in the time of the gentiles where there is no Jew nor Greek. At one point the time of the gentiles will be over and the tribulation will begin. Israel will receive the Messiah during the tribulation. Once the tribulation is over Jesus will reign for 1000 years from Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem which comes after is founded on the 12 apostles and the gates contain the name of the 12 tribes of Israel. No temple will be present.

I am not sure where you get the 8th day from since this is not in scripture.

Sorry, circumcision was fulfilled, all done. And it was not about Judaism, which did not get rid of flesh.

Enjoy the milk.

I tried to talk milk with you about how the law aroused sin, on the other thread, but it got diverted into was it gentile or jew in Rom 7. So for argument sake, fine, we can apply it to the jews.

Why does it say, sin is dead apart from law in 7:8, and the law aroused sin in 7:5, and sin used law in 7:8?

Not to mention, the power of sin is the law, 1 cor 15:56.

Jesus fulfilled ALL of the law including circumcision. ...
concerning Himself about the Passover and Atonement, First of Firstfruits, and Pentecost. But there are more to come to be fulfilled, and His "Revealing", and His call for the ingathering of the Saints, who have made the Covenant with Him, by "Sacrifice/by the Atonement" -Psalm 50]

I am not sure where you get the 8th day from since this is not in scripture.
Yes, it is taught in the Living Oracles. It is the 8th day, the "Last Day" after Tabernacles is celebrated for seven days. There was a ceremony of the drawing and pouring of the waters that was done on it [and shall be done in the millennial reign] -which is when Jesus cried out that He is the Living Water.

John 7:37 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” ...

Leviticus 23:36 For seven days present offerings made to the LORD by fire, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made to the LORD by fire. It is the closing assembly; do no regular work.

Numbers 29:35 "'On the eighth day hold an assembly and do no regular work.

Nehemiah 8:18 Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. They celebrated the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day, in accordance with the regulation, there was an assembly.

Like rose-bud said he believed all in the law and prophets..so?:D

Acts 3:22
Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.

Now do what Jesus tells you, and listen to his chosen instrument please.:) ...Paul...
Edit: Horrors! I just saw that you are making Paul to be Jesus!!! Moses spoke about the Messiah to come, who is come, and He is not Paul!!

Oh-oh! now you want to put the Gentiles under Moses, for Jesus commanded to keep Moses. That is what Jesus said to His people; but in the Oracles, He did not command Gentiles to keep Moses to be "saved", so you mis-apply what Jesus said, and to whom and for what; and what Salvation is, anyway and why the Jews who are saved are commanded not to depart Moses -by Paul, even, after the Jerusalem council said so and wrote a letter to the Gentile Churches saying they did not have to keep Moses "but the Jews have Moses read in the synagogues every Sabbath", and are under Moses: not for "Salvation", but for the oath of keeping the Oracles as His namesake people.

Are you pitting Paul against Jesus, with a false Pauline gospel that is not found in the Word of God?
Matthew 5:

1 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “ Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Believers Are Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.Christ Fulfills the Law

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.Murder Begins in the Heart

It doesn't belong to Frogster Who quoted Acts 3:22 correctly. Yeah I can understand how one applies it to Jesus. Problem is I don't think of Jesus in the sense of a prophet. I think that one should think about the narrative and compare the contentents of v 22 with Moses, Jesus and Paul. I think the narrative really indicates Paul. If you're calling Jesus a prophet I could agree with you except for a fre details such as the writings of Jesus seem to be absent. Paul got his stuff direct from God much in the same manner as Moses. Both wrote things down on parchament. Hey even both murdered. Jesus didn't.
