URGENT PRAYER REQUEST for one of our IFCA Pastors in Kansas City...

Subject: Prayer request for Darrell Godfrey and Shawnee Bible Church

Dear IFCA Members and Churches-
This past Friday, Shawnee Bible Church senior pastor Darrell Godfrey went in for an MRI because he was suffering serious balance issues. The doctors discovered that he has a mass/tumor in his brain and that he needs urgent surgery. The surgery will be this Wednesday at Menorah. They do not yet know if the tumor/mass is malignant or benign. Under the best of circumstances, because of the nature of the surgery, he will be incapacitated for a month, and possibly longer.
Please pray for Darrell and his doctors as they perform the surgery Wednesday. Please pray for Darrell's wife, Karen, and family, that they would trust the Lord in the midst of this trial. Please also pray for the leadership at Shawnee Bible Church as they determine how best to cover Darrell's responsibilities during his absence.

Heavenly father, we ask that you place your healing hands over pastor Darrell's body. We thank you for working through the team of doctors and nurses at his side. Let your presence flow through that surgery room. We pray that he comes out of this surgery with every organ, tissue and cell functioning as you intended when you created him. May the functionality of his entire body be brought to the obedience of Christ. We ask that you keep his family strong during this time. Help them to lean into you and trust that you are in control. We pray that you cover the church. Send the right people to the appropriate positions to keep the church afloat while the pastor is away. In Jesus name, Amen
