I wrote this for our pastor in honor of Pastor Appreciation Month.
The Pastor
He stands up at his pulpit perch
through rain or snow or shine.
He prays for all the sick
and visits them until they're fine.
No matter what time you need him,
He lets you know he's there;
And when he isn't studying,
he's kneeling down in prayer.
Like a politician, he's got a term
in which to work;
His job is with his community,
His office is the church.
He never knows how long he's there
or when his term will end;
If God wants him in another church,
He knows that's where he will be sent.
Lets give thanks to this man
who has been chosen from above-
He has been appointed to his office
and here he works with love.
He doesn't care about what you've done,
Or how you dress doesn't matter.
God has a lesson for everyone
and it's given through the pastor.
