So this is kind of a dumb question I'm sure, but it's been a year and I've forgotten the rule and unfortunately I can't find a bulletin online. Are we supposed to fast from noon on Saturday?

Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. IIRC, we were told 6pm, sometimes I've heard 4pm... One of those AYP...
The reason our priest says 6pm is that communion doesn't really come around until 2am or so. Some parishes get done a lot faster or don't even do the midnight service but instead earlier.

The rubrics prescribe a light meal to be eaten after the vesperal liturgy of St Basil - which would start after noon if the rubrics were to be obeyed and end much later than noon. This is an instance where the fast is intentionally shorter than typical.
