  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My daughter's bday is 3 days before christmas and she'll be turning 4 this year. The age range of guests will be 3-7 years old. I'm doing a christmas theme for her this year but am really having a hard time finding games that I want to do for it. I've researched online. It has to be inexpensive, not overly physical and appropiate for a 3 year old. Does anyone have any ideas? Oh, and I can't sew so it can't be something that requires me to make things.

I am going to have them make jingle bell neclaces for a craft... just looking for party game ideas.

how about droping clothespins into a jar? I know it sounds simple but I remember doing that when I was a kid, fun, easy, cheap..... Or seeing how many tennis balls they can throw into a big laundry basket? Not too far away of course.... I don't know , I'll try to think of some more

Do you think it's a bad idea to only have prizes for the winners? I'm thinking of getting only 2 or 3 individual prizes, like candy, antlers can wear on head... and so forth and everyone will have a goody bag. Would that be too upsetting to the kids who don't win anything?

You could find a picture of a reindeer online and then make a red circle, cut it out, and play pin the red nose on Rudolph! ;)

For a game like Hot Potato, you could use a round (preferrably plastic) ornament to pass around to Christmas tunes.

For a snowball relay race, you could split the kids in two teams, have one member of each team put on a pair of mittens, then with a spoon they have to carry a styrofoam ball (a pretend snowball) to a buck and drop it in, then run back and give the mittens and the spoon to the next kid who takes a snowball to the bucket and so forth.

For prize idea, you could go to the dollar store and buy little Christmas books and wrap them and put them under the tree and when a child wins they can get a gift from under the tree.

what I would do is have a few prizes for the winners like the antlers and such and then at the dollar store I'd buy a few packages of party favors and hand those out to the children that didn't get anything especially for the younger ones that aren't quite ready for the concept of only getting a prize when you win.
