We all know the account of the parting of the sea when Moses stretched out his staff, and most of us have come to understand the other sea to be parted, the “left” from the “right” (Matthew 25:33) is multi-tasked.

The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous

Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world?

    (Matthew 13:49, 1 Corinthians 6:2)

But for today, all should know to “try the spirits to see if they are from God” (1 John 4:1). Using these two references, how can a Christian walking with the armor of God and intact, tell the difference from these identical yet entirely different outcomes?

    “, , greater is one who prophesies, , “

“Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?”

    (1 Corinthians 14:5, Matthew 7:22)

Here's my meager and humble hint (if I am correct): The ONLY person that could possibly understand this outstanding "riddle" is one that possess the Holy and Indwelling Spirit.

Hmmm....well I don't know! Let me look into it right now. But I will assert that each point you made depends on the Holy Spirit. Each point.

Perhaps I am misspelling things, but my searches in actual online bibles aren't giving me anything about the sea of prophets.

Even the very elect would be deceived if it were possible...

My take is that an individual indwelled believer may not make the distinction but a body of indwelled believers, in unity, will (and to me that is rare these days)

    Sobering thought.

Within this thread here (welcome) and my allegorical parting a sea of humanity (1 John 4:1B), may seem to some I am mounting-up some fearful trepidation for a once honorable Holy Spirit gift of prophesy.

This would be quite mistaken. What I am trying to accomplish here is to bring to the forefront God’s continued grace and honor to 1 Cor 14:5 Prophets and what would set them apart from God’s resistance to Matt 7:22 prophets.

Lest some here are tempted to reduce the design God still has in place for us, the Church, the gift of prophesy is to be fulfilled by you and I till Jesus comes. So much, it is also repeated for us in 1 Corinthians 14:1.

Why subject ourselves to such a demonstration of show? Because it ends with the apparent reasoning of “show” because that is the extent of their belief – that ‘God cannot possibly make the Church member speak God’s thoughts and change things around!’ Oh-really? Is that the extent of your expectation?

Have you forgotten what the Holy Spirit of God told us what happens when this blessing is in full-bloom?

But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

    1 Corinthians 14:25

I will say this on those prophets in Matthew, this is serious business. Let’s say if a best-case among them could be found who were known to persevere and availed themselves in public, could they have at some point received from God the early stages of the gift of Prophesy? Most assuredly!

This is how critical the race we now take part of is truly run. This is where all those trappings our brothers the Apostles detailed for us to avoid being ensnared by is!

This is a race that is either finished or canceled.

But he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd,
whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming,
and leaves the sheep, and flees: and the wolf catches them,
and scatters the sheep. The hireling flees, because he is
a hireling, and cares not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd,
and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

    (John 10:12-14)

I’m sorry, but could we take another look at that image of those who “know” what the good Shepherd does when the wolf enters?

But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

    (1 Corinthians 14:25)

So, the many signs out in front of Churches that dot the countryside that say; ‘Welcome LBGTQ To the Safe Haven of Christ’ Church, Free of Judgmentalism’, is it also a form of safety to assume the good Shepherd’s voice will be heard there?

Please pardon my insulting your sensitive intelligence, based on Corinthians, those lifestyles are indeed welcomed to “worship”, but repentance is long-past in need if this is what we have turned safety into, I fear the nectar of spiritual life being drank by many is not at all what God’s will wishes to empress us with. And if that is true, then repentance of quenching Him is line too.

For to pray for all the shepherds of those Churches is grossly misapplied if it not in line with the Shepherd’s voice as seen in V-25.

It appears I have touched on something not altogether well, but infirm!

I must admit here for the benefit of innocence, the mounting number of frequenters to inspect this thread is challenged by the heaping heresy of v-3’s “itch”. With something as critical as the Lord’s will for His body, it would have been better to hear it from you, but out of subjection to Paul’s prophesy, I say, through this defensive inspection the variance of their unorthodoxy is past and now seeks a better founding in heterodoxy (solidified rejection). You may as well pitch the close to 1 Timothy 1:10 too.

His will? Yes, all for Prophesy and the Church, it would be better to secure the “health” (soundness) of v-10 upon which the entirety of this thread is determined to achieve. Is there true faith? It appears only useless talk to many who often sensually rule.
