  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is partial-birth abortion inhumain? Why or why not?

For people who dont know what it is it is where they pull the babbie out feet first but leave its head in (so they can say it hasnt been born) and then take a sharp object and ram it up the back of its head. It could live at that stage if they didnt abort it.

Partial Birth abortion is very inhumane, and should be limited and constantly supervised. Having one, simply because you changed your mind about the baby is ridiculous and just lazy. Allot of women's rights groups, along with the ACLU and the nutty far left are always saying it's a woman's right, no matter how far along she is. I've gott say, after about 25-28wks, the fetus has all of its essential organs and if born at this early stage, will have a few complications at first, but all in all, should live a normal healthy life. If you need sources, please speak to any OB-GYN, and he or she can tell you pretty much the same thing.

If you have ever heard or read about some of the types of Partial-Birth abortions, they are just plain torture. Saline is one in particular, where they boil the baby inside the mothers womd to kill it. Another is one where they would cut the baby up piece by piece while inside the womb. The most "humane" form would be where they pull the baby out, and pierce it through the top of his or her head and cause instataneous death. Pretty sick in my opinion. Again, only in extreme cases should these abortion procedures should be done.

A partial birth abortion simply because the baby isn't wanted is not only inhumane, but both the doctor and woman are morons if they agree to it. Partial birth abortion is a dangerous, painful procedure from what I've heard, and I should think that you'd have to be pretty darn desperate to resort to it. I had to have an abortion for medical reasons in the EARLY stage (as in, around 8 weeks) and even that was a horrible experience.

You've got to be out of your mind to want to have this done for no good reason.

Both Mother and Doctor should be put on trial for murder for 1st degree murder of the baby.

Michigan tried to establish in the Legal Birth Definition Act that the definition of birth as being:
Excerpt~
"The law defined birth -- and the commencing of legal rights -- as the moment when any part of the baby emerges from the birth canal."
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=%5CCulture%5Carchive%5C200509%5CCUL20050915b.html

... in order to stop this misuse of late-term abortion 'right' (misnomer).
A judge ruled against it.
So the battle continues...

Yep....I know...wishful thinking on my part.

Unfortunatly, It is legal to murder unborn babies, so for now I will just pray for the lost soals and try and vote for leaders that care for inocent children.

I can't belive this is actually a real form of abortion! Why not just put it up for adoption? How can anyone sanction the murder of a baby? Granted, if the mothers life is in danger, or the foetus cannot survive outside teh womb, then those are special circumstances to be debated seperatley. But this? This is abhorrant!

Blah blah blah. If it's illegal they will be.
Lol @ your arrogance, btw

It isnt.

"Partial birth abortion" isnt a medical term, nor does the description in the opening post describe any medical procedure. The fetus remains inside the body at all times, but the womb is broken open so that the fetus can be removed (this is where the words "partial birth" come from).

That is impossible.

These kinds of abortions are performed when the fetus is hydrocephalic (that means the head has swollen with fluid and cannot be safely delivered), or the fetus has died, or the fetus is severely malformed. If the fetus is hydrocephalic, then fluid has to be drained (this is where the description of "ramming a sharp instrument into the babies head and sucking it out through a tube" comes from - the description is meant to sound shocking, but the baby cannot pass through the womb unless the fluid is removed).

Adding to that, the fetuses cannot be safely carried to term, nor would they survive outside of the womb. There are only two options, the mother could carry to term (risking her life or the ability to have future pregnancies) or she could abort, there is no choice for adoption. About 95% of partial birth abortions take place before the 20th week, and none occur after 24 weeks.

As for the inhumanity of partial birth abortion, they represent 1% of the total number of abortion in the US, they are only performed on women who would be disabled or die if the fetus were carried to term (contrary to popular belief, there are stict laws regulating this procedure), and most states require fetal anesthetic before the procedure occurs. See ReligiousTolerance.org -Partial Birth Abortion.

Yet another example of why I freaking hate republican strawmen. Liberals are naive, but at least they don't have to attack so damned many strawmen.
