I've just switched back to Ubuntu from Elementary OS, and I'm _really_ missing their Applications Menu. Is there possibly a PPA that has it? Does that even make sense? Is the Applications Menu an application that can be installed like that?

I've searched tha googol, and I think it's called Slingshot Menu, but I keep getting hits for Slingshot Launcher (which I think is something else).

I'm pretty sure Slingshot Launcher is what you're looking for.

At any rate, the elementary-daily PPA seems to have builds of it. I'd be a bit cautious and not actually sync with the PPA; I'd grab the individual packages you need and install them with dpkg. That's probably the safest way, short of checking out the source (or a release tarball) and building it yourself from the slingshot project itself.

Taking note right now that I have no idea how that thing integrates with the rest of the desktop environment.

That's totally it!

Yeah, it may not integrate -- I don't know how different Pantheon is from Gnome 3. I'll try it out and post back how/whether it works. Thanks!
