  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thought people here might enjoy this painting I made. Being a professional artist in a distinctly ungodly field meant a season of not producing any art, but quite suddenly a week ago the inspiration hit to produce something actually meaningful.

I think this is the first painting I've completed that wasn't coerced by the needs of money or marketing

I like it ! What medium of paint did you work with ?
Did it in Paint Tool SAI, a computer software used with a graphic tablet. I haven't got much practice in physical mediums unfortunately

As an visual artist also, i do not quite see the connection of why that (Being a professional artist in a distinctly ungodly field).

Why would that cause a season of not producing art?

Because I dropped the career when I found out God is real, and the career was all I'd done artistically for years.

John, is the painting supposed to represent Jesus returning to this earth ?

Before Jesus returns, there will be the sign of the Son of Man in heaven - Matthew 24:30a.

This is what I made (not as a piece of art, but to use in my end times timeline charts) regarding that event. He will have sickle in His hand based on some verses in Revelation 14. His appearance will terrorize the wicked men of this world (Revelation 6, the sixth seal).

It's a representation of Creation, with Christ as the geometric counterpoint by which the Temple is constructed and all of reality emerges. Also the spring of everlasting water, and the light in the darkness.

A strong sense of movement in the painting. My eye is drawn directly to the shining figure at the heart of the painting.
I was very much trying to capture a representation of the sort of transcendent rush I experienced when I first became aware of the existence of God, so I'm glad that sort of movement came through
