Pain. It cuts cuts that do not bleed,
Hope against hope that they’ll set me free.
Pain overwhelming, yet I do not move,
Ever gained nothing, nothing to lose.
Safety, for nothing is always mine to choose.

I can only see Darkness as I’m licked by it’s flame,
Yet I both know that I’m to blame.

Turning hopelessly, trying to heat every side,
The cold, as I spin, spitting my lies.
Hate, fear and doubt, all get their turn,
Thought within thought, webs always churn,
I never learned to light with his consuming fire.

I fear to cry; my tears burn my eyes.
I thought it to be worse to let them out…
Just another lie.
