  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

quick question for you pregnant ladies out there. I am not sure if i'm pregnant yet or not, it is possible but not sure yet. but my question is..have any of you experienced pain with your sciatic nerve? in your lower back, bottom and sometime in the thighs? i read about this on some websites, just wondered if anyone has experienced this and if so, how did you relieve the pain. thanks!!!

I had that problem with my pregnancy and it has continued after as well. There really isn't much you can do for it unfortunately. What helped me the most was putting heat on it and sitting on a pillow. Then when I slept I put a pillow between my legs.

I am in my second trimester and I get that often often enough if I move a certain way. I had pain and achiness down to my knees yesterday. The pain is never in my back... at least so far. just my butt and hips

My son lived on my sciatic nerve through my last two trimesters, and like singin4him said, it has continued even after my pregnancy, too. Heating pad....and sleeping with a pillow between my legs...yep! That's pretty well what I have had to do!

yup, i had that from about halfway through pregnancy with my daughter, and it's starting again now at only 11wks. I already had a few back problems though so I'm more susceptible i think. I couldn't/can't lie flat on my back, especially on hard surfaces (on the floor) or sit in one position for too long. Not much really helped, just watching my posture... I hope you don't get it though!

yup I've had the ocassional pain if I move a certain way sometimes. grab a test if you really want to find out. some of them can tell you 5 days before your missed cycle (the one thing I do not miss). Good luck.
P.S. Another thing to look for is morning sickness:swoon:  .

The pain you describe is very common. It's due to loose ligaments in the pelvis allowing the sciatic nerve to get trapped. It tends to happen more on the right side rather than left. It results in a pain which radiates from the sacroiliac joint, especially down the right leg.

I first got it when I was around 12 weeks in my first pregnancy and found it very depressing, thinking "this is it, I am going to be in pain for the rest of the pregnancy". However, it only lasted a few days, and is relieved by certain exercises, such as pelvic rocking.
