There is saying that goes "Jesus knows me by name". and another one that states "You are what you think". So if you think that your name seems creepy or that as a christian its 'unacceptable', then well...it is. But if you feel it doesn't matter because Christ is no judge of persons and that maybe he gave you that name in the first place(Just a biblical way of looking at it) then your name means more good than a wicked man with a biblical name. I think someone else might have mentioned this but the pagan ruler gave Daniel a new pagan name, Belteshazzar. Daniel's image was not tainted in God's eyes because of the name change. The origin of my name is bad in my opinion but we have no control what name we are given. It would also be impractical for so many reasons, legally, socially, etc. to change a name. Too much confusion. The blood of Jesus is able to cover your name.

Just attach a different meaning to your name, then that of persian. You can say Anahita is short for Anah, which in Hebrew I believe means, "one who answers or sings"; and Ananar can mean "aroma again" < "ana-, again + nar, aroma".

My name is a variation of a greek goddess, i see nothing wrong with this, but there's always change for you..

I usually like the names of fictional goddesses. They are typically beautiful.

And that's coming from someone who cringes at the thought of idolatry. But really, names are names and that is that.

If you hate your name, however, then maybe...Ana? That's a nice name, and it would be easy to adjust to since it's part of your current name.
