Yeah, it does lean heavily to the weird, doesn't it; totally devoid of any real and substantially serious bible study leaning, instead, toward total philosophical rationalizations which we know is antithetical to everything taught in the scriptures.I mean no insult, but do you guys realize how strange this thread looks to a non-Christian? I am completely gobsmacked here.
The Bible teaches us not to philosophise eh?
Odd, indeed; but, then, that popular humanistic approach is always easier for those just starting out than it is for them to right-off-the-bat steadfastly live in that unquestioningly leap-off-the-cliff state of faith Kierkegaard wrote of; then, again, too, that's, hopefully, exactly what a lifetime is for-learning to live solely on faith.Oddly enough it is usually Creationists who appeal to philosophy here.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. James 2:24

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could take you under the table
David Hume could out-consume
Schopenhauer and Hegel
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as sloshed as Schlegel
There's nothing Nietszche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist

Ahh, but to philosophize is to follow after the traditions of men and the rudiments of the world; certainly, that is not what is referred to as following after Christ.See the part I bolded? Please at least understand a verse before you use it to try and use it.

Justified ONLY if it is faith manifested.
P.S. You have eight commas, two semicolons, and seven hyphens in one sentence. Outstanding.

What do you expect? It's all they know, it's all they care about here. If they knew the scriptures they would be studying and quoting that instead.Oddly enough it is usually Creationists who appeal to philosophy here.

A dubious transaltion back in 1611 when every other time the AV translated gnosis it used the word 'knowledge'. Given the changes in the English language over the last 400 years there is simply no basis for translating it that way. Paul was not talking about modern science. He was talking about 'knowledge'. If there was any hidden meaning in his statement, it was a prophetic warning about the gnostic heresies in the centuries after he wrote the epistle.I Timothy 6:20-21 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Philosophy is man-centered, not Christ-centered.Paul is talking about specific man-centred philosophies,
