• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are you prepared to list your faults and failings?

I am almost perfect (Whoops, a million, or more, pigs have just flown passed the window! )

Here is my list as I perceive them.

1. I can talk for the universe and beyond.

2. I am not as patient as I should be with my husband now he is brain damaged.

3. I am obsessed with turning the central heating down, even though we can well afford it.

4. I get stressed if I am unable to perform my daily routines, I dislike change and worry if I have to do something different to normal. This has got more pronounced now I am older. I haven't been on holiday since 2013, not that I have ever really enjoyed holidays, even as a kid.

5. I am a terrible hypochondriac, I am always 'dying' of something. The kids don't ask me how I am, they just state, 'You are fine, Mum!'

I probably have plenty more imperfections but those are the ones which spring to mind.

One time it hit me that I had lifted my wife out of bed every morning for 5 years.
People do need breaks.

This might be a stretch or might even sound offensive which it is certainly not...

but...

1.It appears that those faults start in the mind. So one would conclude that if you can get your mind to focus on what is good and not what is evil (or just a waste of time...like worrying) then things would be a lot better.
2. We are told to "renew our minds" so it shows that the problem and solution is in the way our minds think.
3. Many understand that how demons (the devil) oppress us is by interjecting thoughts into our heads. Not exactly sure how that works.
4. If we can keep them away from us then we can spend our time thinking on the good things and enjoying life more. Deliverance does just that. Pushes them away for a while. You just have to keep up with it.
All of what I said is from MY experience because I was much like you.

Oh boy, I remember last time a thread like this happened...

We were all accused of being too negative :ahah:

1. I have serious trust issues, so it can take forever for me to properly trust someone enough to get close to them
2. My anxiety sometimes overwhelms me and I will ignore everyone in the outside world for days while I calm down
3. I get impatient and irritable really easily even though I try not to
4. I argue with people on the internet

1-Having survived too much abuse, I still tend to self harm when feeling injured.
2-Despite God's AWESOME track record in my life, I sometimes forget to trust or confide or think God's mad at me.
3-I have PTSD. I guess that's not really a fault, any more than cancer is. But how I handle it isn't always great.
4-I'm too self-centered; aren't we all?
5-I tend to isolate myself due to under-esteeming myself. EDIT- It's not really due to under-esteeming myself; more of just not wanting to fit in with the majority.

Hey, please don't call yourself stupid, as in "stupid bleeding heart feminist liberal". I have read many of your posts. Even if we have different viewpoints, you are certainly NOT stupid.

Intellectual snobbery. Cultural snobbery. Political snobbery. Academic snobbery. Cheese snobbery. Wine snobbery. Food snobbery.

Poor form, but can't help it. Life always seems too short for young cheddar, merlot, and morons.
I can relate. I used to be the same way, but I'm not any more. What's your favourite wine and food, just out of curiosity? And I'm guessing you're not American if you have cultural snobbery lol?

It's not an attempt to put myself down, I'm just using words other people have thrown at me in a negative way to try to insult me. I think it makes me feel more self aware, and also I think it's funny :happyblush:

Thank you for the nice words!
