Owee! Weird pains

So I was standing in the kitchen after tossing some popcorn in the microwave when I felt a really sharp, concentrated stabbing uh.. how to describe it.. up the lower center. It was like *BAM-bam* and I hobbled over to sit at the kitchen island. Tadpole was wiggling around alot while I sat there, or that's what it felt like.. Kinda scarey. Could this be Braxton Hicks or..? Lately it seems like my lower pelvis area has been sore too. Glee~

Pain across the belly, or up the belly?

My understanding is that pain in a band horizontally across the belly might be something to worry about, whereas if it's vertical (up-down), it's probably round ligament pain (perfectly normal). If it's concentrated in one spot and doesn't last long, it's probably just a muscle cramp.

You're welcome! I worked out a while ago that it's a bit like stretching muscles before/after exercise... if you keep doing a hamstring stretch for an hour, you're likely to get pain from over-stretched ligaments... but pregnancy's like one long nine-month stretch for the round ligaments, and they're bound to send out some complaints now and then! It can be really scary though, I had some at about 12-15 weeks that had me doubled over in pain. Yikes!

I got those really badly at the beginning of my second trimester. Some nights my stomach hurt so bad that I was in tears, but it only lasted a few weeks and has left me alone for the last month or so! Hang in there!

I had that once after liftign something too heavy in 2nd tri I think. Dr said it was muscles.

I started having those at the beginning of my third trimester and I talked to my doctor about it. She told me it was totally normal and most likely it was the baby putting pressure on a nerve and/or hitting my cervix which can cause those shooting pains. It could also be related to stretching but most likely if your baby was moving around it was the other.

I had that once really bad with my son... scared me so bad I went to the hospital... I was like 20-25 weeks.... scared me really bad... I was also having mild contractions....very mild... they gave me something to stop the contractions....I was high as a kite after what ever that was... so far all is well this time arround...had a few pains already, but Knew what to expect this time...
