The movies she makes are products. They are consumed around the world. They generate a huge amount of money for the economy. Many people work on those movies, so she aids in employment. Unlike Trump, I'm willing to bet she actually pays her taxes. Without your dollar, she'd still be a multimillionaire. She knew that Trump fans would try to boycott her, bc they are as thin skinned as he is when it comes to criticizing him, but she said what she did anyway.

She was given the big platform to use. She got to use it as she wished. The people who were actually there in front of it stood up for her. You weren't invited to be there. You can boo as loudly as you want from your couch.

Trump uses Twitter as his platform to bully & to demean people all the time. He loves throwing rocks but lives in a fragile glass mansion.

Depends on what you mean by that. I believe he files his taxes and doesn't do anything illegal, but I also believe that he's able to use the numerous loopholes and incentives in the tax system to pay a real rate well below the national average if not zero. I find that to be fine but I imagine he'd be loathe to release his tax returns ever because of that fact.

Perhaps, but that's a far cry from saying he doesn't pay his taxes, which implies criminal behavior. Even a lot of these liberal celebrities, like Streep, probably use loopholes or off shore accounts to avoid paying at the same rate as average Americans.

I'm sure they do. Those things need to be put to an end. I'll applaud Trump until my palms bleed if he actually does anything to close them (but I suspect he won't since it would harm him directly).

Let's be honest. She's an actress. She doesn't make a product. She exists for my entertainment. Without my dollar, she's not a millionaire. She doesn't get a big platform to use.

Were it not for big-time entertainers, there would be no need for theaters, equipment, technicians and thousands of other jobs and products. Sure, they don't produce anything............
