now i have somehow formed an outlook on sin and am curious as to what other people think of it...... ok sin is defined by the laws that are blatantly and notso blatantly found within the bible. and all these laws are founded for a reason and the some of the reasons for which have not been found until recently (through science, research, etc.) like the law.... "do not become drunk with wine". this was put into place cause God knew that we would want to get drunk all the time..... but this destroys our livers which defiles the body that god gave us and brings us closer to death. this we didn't know until just a hundred years ago or so. the law "thou shalt not kill". this was put into place cause all it would take is one person to kill another and it would be a chain reaction until there was only one person left. and then that person would eventually die and the human race would fail. all the sins in this world brings earthly consequences and god sees them as the same thing. like if i were to tell a lie then it would be the same as joe shmoe going out and offing a whole ton of people, IN GODS EYES............ we sin everyday whether we like it or not. it is part of our sinful nature. we will never be perfect. so is it ok to sin with just the earthly consequences in mind (cause every sin was established for a logical reason and has an earthly consequence)..... cause to God it doesn't make a difference, right? just as long as we accept the fact that he forgives us no matter what we do. and his blood cleanses us from all our sin. so yeah any input on this would be helpful or just plan interesting for the sake of conversation. oh and sorry for the length of this.

If we love God, we hate sin. We DO sin, but we hate it. Read Romans, particularly chapters six and seven. As we grow as Christians, our desire to sin lessens. The Bible teaches that we really can't resist sin by our own will power. It's only by allowing the Holy Spirit to live in us and through us that we can overcome. It's a joyful life, really.

Before we were saved thru the sacrificial death of Christ for our sins, we were the prisoners of our depravity. Paul portrays the bleak situation of unbelievers: "I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death"(Rom.1:9). As a scrupulous Pharisee Paul loved the commands, but when he heard them he discovered he only kept on breaking them!

However, when Christ saved him, the Spirit of God entered his life bringing the very power of God into our struggle with the sin we hate. Thus Paul can urge us, "Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that obey its evil desires", Rom.6:12. While perfection awaits us at the Coming of Christ, even now in battling the world's value, our own wrong desires and the temptation of the Devil, we grow....sometimes substantially, sometimes very gradually. The miracle is not perfection in Heaven: the miracle is men and women filled with the Spirit who more and more display Christ's holy character. God bless, Al

zao post: IN GODS EYES............ we sin everyday whether we like it or not. it is part of our sinful nature.

>>>zao, I am not sure who told you this or where you got this information from. The Word of God does not support this claim that we sin whether we like it or not in God's eyes. The child of God is led by the Spirit. The Spirit does not lead a child of God to sin because there is no darkness in the Spirit. Also, the Spirit led child does not have a "sinful nature" because the Spirit nature is righteous and godly. Perfection and sinlessness are two entirely different subjects. Each can be studied and understood in the proper context.

Blessings,
Word up!
