  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Out of work..again.

I joined this forum earlier this week and I must say I am so happy I found it!!

I have a prayer request:

My husband works in the IT field(software sales) and last year he was laid off in a company take over. It took him 8 months to find another job. He was working for four months and the company he worked for was having financial trouble so they laid him off("last one hired, first one fired"). He's a wonderful husband, father and friend. When he first lost his job a few weeks ago he seemed to be handling it pretty well but lately he has been very depressed. I would really appreciate it if you could please pray for him....he's such a wonderful person and I know the Lord has great things in store for him but he needs help to get through this. Thank you very much. Bless you.

My husband has been on his new job since around the 1st of June <got it while I was in the hospital after a collapse/heart attack at home, I think I posted a testimony in that area here. It's on the 2nd page of this thread called "What God Did For Me" with a lightbulb on the side> but what I wanted to tell you is, he was laid off 3 times right in a row. All within a year. He had been on the one job a long time but like you said they were merging w/another, bigger company. Well once that was complete, byebye those that had been there ....a LONG time. The other company brought in their "own" people. So from there like you said the "new hire" is "first fired" or let go, laid off however they want to word it. :(

It's very sad indeed and my heart goes out to you both. I will be in prayer for you both too. :prayer:

Father we know you are in total control and know the situation here w/your children. Please Lord, open doors for her husband to find work...work he'll enjoy, look forward to, be good at and the pay be over and above their expectations. Put people in their paths that can make a difference also while they wait for answered prayers. May they find gracious, kind, loving, people that can assist or be there for them spiritually, emotionally, financially, whatever they need. Meet them at each one Father, because we know that you will never leave us or forsake us. We thank you in advance for answered prayers Lord and these things I pray are in the precious, holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
