This is an excellent question. It comes from poor man-centered preaching. Let me use hyperbole: Jesus did not die o the cross to save YOU. He died on the cross as the culmination of the revelation of the invisible Father as being both Holy and Love as contained in the 'mystery hidden from the beginning'. We happened to get saved in the process.

Since God's name 'Elohim' means 'God separated from man by ignorance', what good is getting 'saved' if you don't know the Father? The Hebrew word 'saved' means 'the flesh that loves the increase of the word'. If you are not loving learning more of him, you might ask if you are saved at all.

To answer more directly... you aren't worthy. Jesus is. He deserves a harvest. Consider the parable of the wedding feast. He has gone out into the highways and byways and compelled people to come to the feast that weren't invited. He gives you the garment to attend.
