=loveabounds:Sigh.
Another one who misses the symbolism that Jesus used so often when He spoke.
What did Jesus hold up to represent His body? BREAD. What did Jesus hold up to represent His blood? WINE. He did not literally use parts of His body to be passed around the table to be eaten nor did the cup contain His actual blood.
Do you truly believe that Jesus came down as a loaf of bread from Heaven, too?
Consider studying the different forms Jesus spoke in. Symbolism was one such form, parables was another....get the picture?
So my friend:
Christ who is God either lied or by intent misleads us? If your your position is accurate? Why did God just not say so? LOOK at the PRECISE language He God used.
"MY Body is REAL food and MY Blood is REAL DrinK"
John6:55
John 5: 3-36-38 But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father has granted me to accomplish, these very works which I am doing, bear me witness that the Father has sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness to me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen; and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe him whom he has sent.
Matthew 26: 26-28
And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body. And taking the chalice, he gave thanks, and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this. For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many unto remission of sins.
MARK 14: 22-24
And whilst they were eating, Jesus took bread; and blessing, broke, and gave to them, and said: Take ye. This is my body. And having taken the chalice, giving thanks, he gave it to them. And they all drank of it. And he said to them: This is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many.
Luke 22: 19-21
And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me. In like manner the chalice also, after he had supped, saying: This is the chalice, the new testament in my blood, which shall be shed for you.
Paul 1 Cor.11: 23-29
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread. And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body,
which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me. In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me. For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall show the death of the Lord, until he come.
Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: [to be worthy of the privilege] and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself"
And this Judgement is wrough because of eating just ordicary bread and wine?"
AND THEN:
Matthew, Mark, Luke and Saint PAUL all also lied or mislead us?
And you of couse have a ready at hand explaination for the MANY, MANY Eucharistic Miracles that have taken place since Christ Ressurection? [GOOGLE: "Eucharisitic Miracles"] I can't post URI's yet.
And OF COURSE you have an explaination for the Early Church Fathers and the Early Church beliefs in the REAL PRESENCE?
The early Church Fathers interpreted these passages literally. In summarizing the early Fathers teachings on Christs Real Presence, renowned Protestant historian of the early Church J. N. D. Kelly, writes: "Eucharistic teaching, it should be understood at the outset, was in general unquestioningly realist, i.e., the consecrated bread and wine were taken to be, and were treated and designated as, the Saviors body and blood"...
Early Christian Doctrines, 440.
Ignatius of Antioch
"I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible"
Letter to the Romans 7:3
[A.D. 110].
"Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes"
Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:27:1
[A.D. 110].
Justin Martyr
"We call this food Eucharist, and no one else is permitted to partake of it, except one who believes our teaching to be true and who has been washed in the washing which is for the remission of sins and for regeneration [i.e., has received baptism] and is thereby living as Christ enjoined. For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus"
First Apology 66
[A.D. 151].
Irenaeus
"If the Lord were from other than the Father, how could he rightly take bread, which is of the same creation as our own, and confess it to be his body and affirm that the mixture in the cup is his blood?"
Against Heresies 4:3332
[A.D. 189].
"He has declared the cup, a part of creation, to be his own blood, from which he causes our blood to flow; and the bread, a part of creation, he has established as his own body, from which he gives increase unto our bodies. When, therefore, the mixed cup [wine and water] and the baked bread receives the Word of God and becomes the Eucharist, the body of Christ, and from these the substance of our flesh is increased and supported, how can they say that the flesh is not capable of receiving the gift of God, which is eternal lifeflesh which is nourished by the body and blood of the Lord, and is in fact a member of him?"
ibid., 5:2.
Clement of Alexandria
"Eat my flesh, [Jesus] says, and drink my blood. The Lord supplies us with these intimate nutrients, he delivers over his flesh and pours out his blood, and nothing is lacking for the growth of his children"
The Instructor of Children 1:6:43:3
[A.D. 191].
Did Jesus Himself not share the following:
Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." [This too is a lie from Jesus?]
John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.
John 5: 36 "But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father has granted me to accomplish, these very works which I am doing, bear me witness that the Father has sent me"
Is your unbelief based on:
1. God can't do this IF he choose too?
2. God either lied or intentionally misleads us in the Bible?
3. The Apostles and Paul, the Early Fathers, and the Early church ALL conspired to "Lie" along with God and to perpetuate FRAUD?
4. The Bible is WRONG?
MY REPLY:
1.God can do any good thing. This is well within God abilities. This is the GREATEST of all possible good; becaus eit IS CHRIST HIMSELF
2. God cannot [ a Moral IMPOSSIBILITY' lie] What possible reason could God have for either lying or misleading us? This GIFT:
OF God
BY God [through His priest]
FOR God's own Glory and our sanctification
CAN ONLY be seen, understood and acceptted with God's Faith and through the understanding of JUST HOW MUCH GOD DOES LOVE US and desire that we DO "merit" according to HIS WAY: our own salvation.
A KEY part of the problem for Protrestants stems from their WRONG beleif of OSAS... therefore God has no further need to assit us. WRONG and unbiblical. Christ Instituted the SEVEN Sacraments to assit us in our salvation efforts.
3. What possible reason [given that they gave their very lifes in SEVERE
Martyrdom] to perpetuate "this fraud?" This is beyond silly.
4.2nd. Tim. 3:16-17 "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
Your saying "it's not" and that Christ who IS God spoke incorrectly?
This of course is IMPOSSIBLE for God to do. God can ONLY be Good.
"Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is tested;he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Add nothing to his words, lest he reprimand you, and you be proved a liar."
Rom.10: 17So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ
Eph. 3: 9 to 12 And to make all men see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; that through the church[SINGULAR: meaning THE CATHOLIC Church..no-other church even existed for another thousand years or so] the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose which he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confidence of access through our faith in him
Matt.13:9-12 He who has ears, let him hear." Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" And he answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not,[RIGHT-understanding] even what he has will be taken away.
John 12: 48-49 He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what to say and what to speak.
