  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi
I'm a carpenter and I used to love it, but not lately... I will soon be going to school and I can't wait! the only thing I am not looking forward to is being in 101 classes with a bunch of 18 year olds. lol

18 year olds wouldn't be so bad except that I don't see my old friends since I became a christian and lately I feel like I have been hanging aroung with a lot of 17-18 year olds already (I help out in the youth group in our church.)

I might actually have to start dressing trendy again. ;)

I know what you mean!

I'm taking classes for fun at the college I work at, and sometimes I get into classes that are full of freshmen.  It's not too bad in class, but when it comes to group projects and stuff they have a different mindset on when/where good places to meet as a group as opposed to me...or others in my same situation (full-time worker; off-campus liver).  I prefer taking upper-level courses because most of the students live off campus and know what it's like to be trying to pay bills and get to campus for things.  :)

Nothing wrong with 17/18 year olds though...because they're so new to college that they're so friendly and look up to people who've been around the school for awhile.  :)  That part's not so bad.

I am an adoption social worker in Philadelphia.  In a nutshell, I help families adopt children!  God has truly blessed me with this job and I am learning so much!  I am, however, thinking of possibly going into law.....it's in the back of my mind.  Arrrggghhh!!  That means, it'll be another four years of part-time schooling!! I live beside one of the Universities here and they have a great law school.  What scares me is taking the LSAT.....now that is one test that absolutely freaks me out!!!!  But like I said, law school is in the back of my mind!  :)

Greetings Daniella   It's nice to meet another who accepts Christianity without claimining a denomination

I delt with your kind before..lol (when working my way through school)...we ALWAYS knew there was a mystery customer who would grade us...and TRUST me...THAT is much more stressful...lol.

For everyone else:  As far as what I do, you can start by reading my profile.

I'm an electrical engineer by trade.  I primarily do consulting/contract work for public power utilities.  What does that mean?  That means they pay me to analyze their overall plant operations, try to optimize their processes using statistics, new technologies, basic science...etc.  The end result,,,I tell them what they're doing wrong...they ignore me, pay me..and send me on my way.    Besides that, I take great joy in participating in/coaching youth sports, particularly baseball, basketball, and swim competition.

That sounds like a cool job. What do you have to do?

it is cool :D but like i said it can get stressful more so when i have to remember what to say on the questionaire .. bascally a company pays me lets say pizza hut pays me to spie at KFC and see what there up to they will pay me to eat at kfc and pay me back and answer questions when i get home like say they ask was the food hot? was it fresh that kinda thing but sometimes the questionaires are usually 40 questions long ..and sometimes you have to ask a question and record what they told you.. it sounds easier then it is.. lol
