For those who are fairly proficient in Greek and things pertaining to the LXX, what is your opinion of the OSB compared to the EOB? Should I go ahead and invest in an OSB, or wait till the full EOB comes out? Or should I just get both? Or do you recommend another translation that is reasonably easy for me to get my hands on? Thanks.

I do not fit your criteria as "fairly proficient in Greek", in fact Greek's "all Greek to me". I hope I can help a bit, however.

Which one you get depends on what you want. The OSB is a "popular" translation with explanations, which more-or-less attempt to explain the Patristic understanding of key points. The EOB on the other hand is a more "scholarly" work, focused more on an accurate representation of the LXX.

According to the OEB website: Hence, the EOB and OSB are truly complementary editions of the Holy Scriptures for Orthodox Christians who are encouraged to use and promote both and to participate in the ongoing improvement process of the EOB.

My recommendation is to get both. I already have the OSB (and find it of great value), and I plan to get the EOB as soon as possible.
