The fasting would be the hardest thing for me, but my husband would benefit from it as he hasa health issues and he already quit dairy.

don't worry about that. fasting is the means to an end, not the end itself. you fast as you can and as your priest tells you to.

I just found that much of the Antiochian "little red" is online, see: Orthodox Prayers | Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese.

I also wanted to add that if EO churches are far off there is a slight chance an Oriental Orthodox Church may be present. The EO & OO are not in communion but we are almost the same in doctrine. Many of us in both churches laity can barely understand what separates us but I also do not want to trivialize something like that either.

I like to have hard copies of important books, just in case the power goes out-which is not uncommon around here with severe thunderstorms in the summer, and blizzards in the winter!

The closest church I can find whether EO or OO is a Greek Orthodox church about 80 miles away. Not too bad, the closest OO is 4 hours away.
