Hi guys,

I was just looking at the pictures some of you have of your baptisms. Out of curiousity, are Orthodox baptisms usually done full immersion? Is this also the case for babies?
Yes...full immersion. And also full immersion for babies. Three full immersions that is.

Ya gotta love a religion that actually TELLS you to hock a loogie as part of a sacrament... :D

When I was baptized, I just did like "ttthtt!" with my teeth... I didn't want to make a productive spit inside a church, that would be nasty. But I still wanted Satan to know that I don't much care for him. :)

My son Elijah was just under 1-year old when he was baptized and reacted in a surprising way when he was triple dunked. Normally he was a very touchy baby, crying at almost anything, but when he was dunked he seemed to smile each time showing no indication of fear. When we gave him baths at home he normally cried if we so much as sprinkled water on his head . . .

I'm just saying if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time and you get spat on, if the person spitting has any diseases or is even a carrier of a disease then you're in trouble.

Seeing that it is part of a sacrament, you would be completely safe :p
